Valentine's Day...

We're both working, so he'll claim he didn't have time to get me anything, and he'll bring me a leftover rose from the restaurant he works @...like he always does. I know not to expect anything anymore.

I like romance all year. It's nice to share it when it's not expected. Valentines is great, but can't be all of it.
I'd always rather DO something than get something. That way it's enjoyed by both. Memories last forever.
I also love jewelry. lol

I'm workin'. I'm not a big fan of the over-commercialized heart & flower frenzy that is Valentine's Day. That said, my current relationship feels like every day is Christmas, so whatev. V Day can suck it.

why don't you leave him for someone who cares? Someone like... Chill_dog. He will be at the meet btw.

From little things you say here and there, it doesn't seem like you're very happy in this relationship. Have you considered not being in it?

Sounds like you and astraub are heading for one of these type romantic evenings:

That said, sadly for Arstraub, I don't think it sounds like she and I are going to have VDays that remotely resemble each other. :shakehead My man spoils me ridiculously every day. I'm the luckiest girl in the world.

He's just not a romantic kinda guy, and that's okay. But he's my best friend, we do everything together, from car shows to shoe shopping, I love the guy, I'm not going to just leave him. I told him a few years ago that I'd rather he gave me 1 rose/month than a dozen roses on VDay, and, of course, it didn't work, but I tried. I know there are tons of guys and I haven't been the greatest girlfriend because of that, but I know, when the going gets tough, he's the guy I want by my side. I see him pretty much every day, we are together almost every holiday and I always learn new things because of him. I've become more patient, calm, and mature because of him, so I'm not going to leave him because he hasn't necessarily caught up with me on the age thing. I get hit on by older guys all the time and I figure it's because I have my life fairly mapped out, and by the time guys seem to be 32, they have it all mapped out, too. But he does know I'm not going to wait around forever. He's coming to the meet but I will totally kick your ass if you tell him I said anything bad about him on here hahaha

That's one of my all-time favorite SNL skits. SO good.

Wife is working on V-day...probably 2nd shift, so I'm clear!!
I'll probably cook her dinner and buy flowers. Her b-day is only a month after that so I'm not going too overboard with v-day

Thanks guys. She's expecting it (doesn't know when, just thinks its gonna happen in the next couple of months), so hopefully no disappointment. I dont know if she has figured out that I am doing it on v-day. I didn't originally plan on doing it on v-day, but given the timeframe from when i started dealing with the ring stuff, it just kinda worked out.
We've been living together for over 2 years, so I don't think much is going to change.

I really am happy that you have a good relationship. Given the time that it seems to have lasted and your obvious comparisons to measure it against, it is more likely an actuality rather than a perception. I may kid and or bother you from time to time wndrlst, but love is a beautiful thing...in all its myriad forms...it is good that you know one of them...
