okay, i'm a senior in highschool, but i leave after 5th hour (normally 7 hours) to go to the local community college and take college english there... there's this girl i met there-- i just sat next to her during the class once or twice and she started talking to me, i find out she's also a senior doing the same thing as me, she goes to a neighboring highschool (a kinda ghettoish highschool)-- well i just decide, uh i'll give her my cell #, and see what happens, she calls a couple times, and then says she's going to come hang out with me, she backs out, i still talked to her in class, she's nice, flirts a lot-- i then find out she was like best friends with a good friend of mine's sister- and has known my good friend since like he was 2 years old...
more recently, she's been calling me a lot, text messaging me a bunch, and being all flirty, friday night, she meets me , my good friend and some other friends at buffalo wild wings, and we watch the game, still flirty,-- she leaves after the game, and i dont see her, i call her the next day, she wants to hang out-- sounds good to me, calls me back several times-- we end up meeting a friends house then heading over to my house, we watch a couple movies, ya know- the whole, arm around her, trying to move in for a smack, but she's just kinda pushin away-- nothing happens, i even take her up to my room and she like is on the other side of the room the entire time, like avoiding me... FINALLY, on her way out, i'm able to slide in and kiss her goodbye--

Maybe you should ask the mutual friend about her and if he knows anything about if she is stalkerish. I wouldn't worry too much about the IM thing, maybe she was bored and really wanted to give u an IM. No idea why she wouldnt just ask you, but people are different. Not something I would have chosen to do, but I could see how someone would do it. She is probably at least interested if she tries to contact you 3948948839 times a day and lets her put your arm around her. But hell, if its too much trouble, just tap it and run
