Separation
Separation
Simple question.
Ever know any couples that actually get back together after separating?
Just found out yesterday that my mom is separating from my dad for ~4-6 months. It's not like a legal separation just in the interim time before a divorce. They don't hate each other. But they've been rocky the past couple years, and she says she thinks she needs time to step back to maybe see what she really has. She's gonna be moving out. I don't know how quickly. But I'm guessing within no more than a month.
I'm know I can't worry about it. It is what it is, and regardless they're still my parents. Still sucks though.
I just hope I see them back to being happy how I know they used to be.

Sorry to hear about your folks. I only know of one couple that took a break and got back together. I have however seen a lot of couple that split up and are now very happy with their lives....they just have separate ones.
Yes, it's hard for a couple to get back together again but it's not impossible.
My husband's friend and his wife contemplated about getting a divorce a few years ago. But they decided not to take a hasty decision and thus just lived apart for about 6 months. Then, they "dated" to have the chance to talk over their issues and build their relationship again. They now live together and seem happier than they were before.

I'm sorry about your parents, B. My ex and I split for a while when we were engaged, then eventually got back together and were married for 7 years. Obviously, we eventually split again. It could certainly go either way, but as has been said, the odds are against them.
Hang in there.
Hang in there.

sucks no matter what age. I was 10 when it happened with my parents. are they taking a step back from each other and just taking some time for themselves? or are they completely split, just not legally divorced?
Which is why I guess I may have a little more hope for them.
My boss and his wife have been married for 25 years now. They were married in their early 20s and she was cheating on him about a year or two into their marriage, so they took some time apart and eventually got back together.
