I just saw a picture of a bedroom with a huge mirror over the bed on the ceiling. Now I know that this is suppose to be like freaky and cool, but is it really. Has anyone really had one and is it a turn on?? I don't see how it could be in my case, because if Im on top, then all she'll see is my hairy ass?? Nothing sweet about that. So are these ceiling mirrors overrated??

I think the relative eroticism or disgust of having a mirror is directly related to how the two of you look naked.

I have tried the mirror on the ceiling thing, all I did was laugh because it sorta struck me as cheesy. But standing in front of an existing mirror, using a hand-held one have always...um...worked.

 

Isn't it cheezy though - but in the few dumpy motel rooms where we "discovered" this feature (not advertized on the front billboard) it was somehow, part of the charm...........got into a "trailer trash" theme for the evening............

 

I once stayed in a motel room that had a "Dutch" theme. Too bad I didn't have a pair of wooden clogs and a little corseted dress with me.

 

My wife and I have always wanted to check into one of those irretrievably tasteless "honeymoon resorts" in the Poconos with heart-shaped whirlpool baths and red flocked wallpaper.............. but the idea has more appeal in the fantasy than the reality, I suspect.......

We did stay at the Royalton in NYC, a very sleek and chic Euro/French hotel designed by a French madman, Phillippe Starck, and operated by Ian Schraeger (he ran Studio 54, and needed to do something more serious after he broke his coke habit, so they say, and he went into the slick hotel biz). The room was upholstered in grey ultrasuede, the bathroom was dark grey slate with a 5'-diameter hot tub.....................and come to think of it, mirrors on all of the walls (but not the ceiling)............. really didn't leave the hotel much that weekend.

Much later, we went to an opening of another Starck/Schraeger hotel in Miami just north of the South Beach strip - the Delano - a 1030's Deco masterpiece. Starck did the rooms completely in pale grey and white, with touches of celedon. White floor, white slipcovers, billowing white draperies, white television, white cedar armoire with a celadon interior - and a green apple (different one every day; we checked) on a white table......... Felt like a very expensive sanitarium, but we didn't leave that room much either................ ah, well.

The last time my parents went to Las Vegas together they had a room at Caesar's with a super-sized circular bed, mirrored ceiling, and mirrors on three of the walls. I filed this under things I really didn't need to know.

 

My friend Tasha lives in Marrietta, GA in Whitney Houstons old house. Her parents bedroom has mirrors everywhere built into the walls and on the cielings...you can see every angle when banging a chick.
