I was under the impresion that once a person gets married, he or she will have all the freedom of having sex with his / her partner whenever he / she wanted.

Ok, makes sense. But the issue is that, by chance, I was discussing about sex with other couples which I asked how many times a week (on average) they had intercourse. My jaw dropped when I heard numbers like once a week or once every two weeks.

I thought it was only one couple so I asked another couple and they had a similar answer. I could not believe it. They are all married fo 2 to 4 years (I am 3 and a half).

My numbers are once a day on average with triple sessions over the weekends. I was sure that my case was on average considering the amount of years married, and it took me by surprise when i discussed it with other couples. They told me my case was rare.

Any comments? Are the people I asked rare cases? Is my case rare?

At this point I have no idea!

I've been married just over four years. I can honestly say I don't keep count, it kind of ebbs and flows. We are trying for baby number one, so yeah we've been giving the Sleep Number mattress a work out.

 

You are probably at the stage in your marriage where you haven't quite noticed that you are getting less. You will get a spike when your wife decides its time to have a kid. Once you get to the point where there are either too many kids in your house or your wife decides she doesn't want any more kids your sex life graph will fall off the chart.

Hate to break it to you, but you're the rare case here.

Most people I know who have shared this info, and including myself, are on the 1-3 times per week schedule. Depends how busy everyone is and what is going on... but that seems to be the norm. FYR, this ranges from young couples in their upper 20's to some in their mid-30's to high 30's... so it's consistant across the board and age seems to have little to do with it.

If you're getting it 11 times per week count your lucky blessings and never let her go... b/c she's more machine then human!!

By the time we put the kids to bed and we've both finished the projects were working on, we're typically too tired to do much of anything else.

I can be waked up at 3 am with a nice BJ and I wont complain at all. I think Sex > Sleep in my book. Works very well when I am stressed.

 

I think that it also depends on how involved the sex is. If it is only 10-20 minutes foreplay and all (God forbid) then once per day would not be insane; however, if you have 1.5hr sex sessions, then three times per week is good and a complete workout.

 

Oh, no, the quality ones usually over the weekends only. Not enough resources (time, energy) to do that during the week.
