I guess that's your Tennessee values speaking

Watch the TN comments hot rod. I am sure his comment about you being self centered surrounded your comment about how all of your threads go to 5-10+ pages.

Is that your Baltimore public education speaking???

J/K I couldn't turn that one down.

I used to not want kids. My step sister has two, and it used to freak me out when she would make me hold them. I used to think, "I can't even take care of myself, how the hell am I supposed to raise a child?" The whole"they'll be 18 and i'll be 50" thing came into play to. That said, there's nothing saying you have to pay for your kids college. That's why they have student loans and scholarships. No one is paying for my schooling. I think if you raise them to the best of your ability, help them out when they need emotional support, and give them someone that will "always have thier back" I think you've been a good parent. With the cost of living increasing, along with the price of college, not being able to pay for your kids schooling isn't letting them down. Maybe you let them live at home a little longer than usual. If you keep your personal financial situation in check, eventually it will be handed down to your kids, and will probably be used to pay off thier loans, so in escence, you've paid thier tuition anyway, just not from the start..... My biggest worry is marrying the right girl. the last thing I want my kids to go through is haveing thier parents go through a divorce....

I don't have a Baltimore public eduation. I happen to live in one of the best public school districts in the U.S. just north of Baltimore City

Nothing against the south. I personally LOVE spending time in West Virginia.

I have accepted that when my new child (we've got a "bun in the oven", wife is 18 weeks pregnant) is 18, I'll be 55. My wife and I have been married for 11 years and we just weren't ready for kids. Now we are. We had our run of fun, and now we're ready to change it. It is SO exciting to be pregnant......

As to the premise of this thread....If you're not ready for kids, you're not ready. Simple as that. No big deal. Next?

If you are even remotely intelligent, you should have offspring to counterbalance all the fucking morons in the world who are breeding like rabbits. And from a biological standpoint, youre a failure of life if you dont reproduce. haha

that being said. I want one child, and im not sure when. Sooner than later, because I dont want to be old, but then im not financially ready to have a child and Id like to have my education and career in place before I bring a child into this world

Kids suck. I hate people who give me the whole "my child is the greatest thing that has happened to me blah blah blah .. " line. I think they just want everyone else to be miserable too! lol

My wife and I agree that we will not have kids. Ever..

We both are in the Science field and have the same feelings about human nature. After seeing how people acted during the Hurricanes in LA, it only helps prove that we will be the cuase of our own demise.

The day we get away from small communities, where there was a baker, a farmer, etc, was they day we created an end to the world. God forbid there is ever an energy crisis (And there will be one in the next 50 years) the World will self destruct. Farmers will not be able to pick their crops. Super markets will go bare.

Hell, I see it when ever we get 3 inches of snow. All the bread and milk is gone from the shelves, and people get angry that there is no more.

Anyone seen the new War of the Worlds, where Tom has the only working car, and he gets car jacked? And then that person get car jacked.... Well that is what will happen. it is only a matter of time..

I would not want to add any more population to this over populated World, nor have to see our children starve to death..

Enjoy..

I think that's mostly due to how they were/are being raised. So you would control that for the most part.

Most kids are great, but I'm glad I can give them back to their owners, I mean bosses, I mean, parents.

Even though i've nearly fallen into the marriage trap a few times due to me thinking with the wrong head, i'm thinking it's an albatross around my neck i just don't need. i can only take my sister's kids in small doses. i've always been like this too. when i was around 7 yrs old i wrote an essay my mother still has stored away in her house about how i never want to get married and have kids, and if i don't have enough money to afford a nice house and a ferrari i'll just live out of the ferrari.

25 years later i feel the same way, but living out of a ferrari seems like it could be a problem. i do wish i lived in a condo/townhouse though. i can't stand worrying about mowing the lawn etc etc.
