I thought from the title this thread was going to be about prostitutes - my bad.

 

That came to mind today while sitting around the office....

That and I was on the phone the other day and my friend looks at me when I hung up and said "was that a hooker you were talking to?", I guess it sounded like it..

i pay 98% of the time... but she always makes an offer or an attempt to pay... so i can't complain.

i like paying... just one of the few ol fashioned things a guy can still do.

 

He'll usually pay for dinner, but whenever I go shopping I usually buy him a pair of jeans or a shirt or something, or I'll pay for some drinks at the bar, etc. We are pretty even.

 

I never accepted a dime from my last gf of 3.5 years. Even my female friends i go out and chill with now, i'll buy like half their drinks for the night at the clubs. I am just old school about that type of shit i guess.

i think a guy should ALWAYS get the first date. after that, if they keep dating keep it even. w/ my last boyfriend, i tried to keep it pretty even b/c he tried to pay a lot. i was just brought up not to mooch and pay for my own way and treat my friends when i go out. even if it was just mcdonald's or something, he'd pay one time, and i'd pay the next. no biggie.

no girl should ever expect a guy to always pay. even if a guy were a millionaire (fat chance at my age... lol), i'd still want to treat him just to show respect and so that he knows i care.

I agree with you, it's well put! I was getting the feeling of "buying" her in order to have a relationship. But the out come of our talk was great, so I'm happy about it now. I just wished I had talked to her little bit earlier tho.

Probably because my g/f knows I'm a cheap ass and if she wants an expensive dinner, she is going to have to pay. I just don't enjoy going out to eat a lot. I'd rather have a good home cooked meal or visit my dad have some of his bar-b-que.

Dayum when you go out to dinner and a movie and drive around and shit those miles add up and mobil 1 ain't just a drop in the bucket and gas isn't a drop in the bucket anymore it costs 60-70 bucks to go out on one of those date dates...

Good thing my ex and I have a good relationship and she now works... when you are just dating someone it is kind of expected for the guy to pay for some reason. So if you are just dating then expect your wallet to be really skinny. or your credit card balance not be paid off that month. Other than that when you get into relationships and long term relationships (into years) then it evens out.

After the talk, my situation turned into 50-50 contribution (or as close to that). She didn't exactly understood my reasoning (logic-wise), but she was somewhat feeling bad for me paying all the time. I'm glad that I talked to her about it now.

This reminds me of something I heard recently, can't remember where.

If a girl goes downtown on a Sat night with no money, she will have an awesome time and have as many drinks as she wants.

BUT, if a guy goes out with no money, he will go home lonely and sober as a brick.

Kinda sucks when you think about how true it is.

 

she couldn't cook?!?!? i think cooking should be a prerequisite for girls. i'm no "male chauvanist", but every woman should know how to cook a decent meal. men like women who can cook... am i wrong?
