Question for the experienced: As the day is likely a bit of a mini-marathon from start to finish, is there anything you take to keep your energy up aside from having snacks available? Energy drinks (i.e. Red Bull or just plain coffee)...?

Yumchah - congrats. The nerves will pass once she officially owns your balls.

And there is no need to worry about keeping the energy up. Even with little sleep the night before and a LONG day of the wedding, the event keeps you going without anything extra.

BTW, don't forget to post right before you walk down the isle.

Red Bull and Vodka should keep you going, until you pass the fuck out. Go for that one, and then post the aftermath pictures on AZ.

If your best man isn't prepared with a flask there's something wrong with him.

Screw it. I'm starting to drink tonight...

Another question: Does it matter what side of the altar the groom stands on? Just curious. In some weddings, the groom (from the perspective of the audience) is on the right...in some, he's on the left.

I think....the groom is always on the right, from the audience's perspective.

Wow, time goes by so fast...Don't worry Yummycheeks, it'll all be quick, enjoy each and every moment as it'll be a day to cherish for a lifetime.

So where are those pics? Did you hire good photographers? You better post pics of wedding once it's done and over.

Um...yes. I'll enjoy each day alright. Well, I better if I know what's good for me...

The pics? Well...

And yeah, the photographer is pretty good. Just dangit, not cheap...if I knew wedding photography was such a lucrative career, I would've gone for it!

Pre-congrats man!

You going to dance the "robot" at the reception? I mean, you could always work it in between your "running man" and your "swimmer" moves...

No prenup? I don't think she would argue allowing you to keep all your robots as long as she gets your house and money...

The wedding day will go by so quickly. Therefore there is no need for energy drinks. You will be full of adrenaline. Just enjoy the moment because it will be over in a flash. Ten milion things will be going on and everything will turn out fine.

Traditionally the groom is on the right side.

Best Wishes!!

PS: Don't be like Richard Jefferson.

I wouldn't do energy drinks or anything out of the ordinary. Adrenaline and excitement will pull you through. I don't know how highly caffeinated drinks mix with anxiety, but I'd steer clear of 'em.

If anything, be sure to eat proper meals (if you even have an appetite) as you normally would before your wedding commitments begin....so try to eat breakfast, and make time for lunch or a snack before the ceremony goes underway, even if it means someone brings you a sandwich or something while on-site. Just make sure whatever you eat is simple and not remotely messy if you will already be dressed!! Plan this ahead of time (eg: room service if you will be getting ready in a hotel, having a friend pick up something on the way to seeing you, etc.)

Personally, I barely slept or ate for the few days leading up the wedding, and I wasn't nervous at all - just really excited, so you might experience a little of that too. I barely ate dinner the night before, had a scrap of brunch (wasn't hungry in the AM) the day of the wedding, TRIED to have a few bites of lunch before the ceremony, but just found I really wasn't hungry.

Our reception was a blast and set up so that it provided all the necessary time to eat a full meal with all our guests without the chance of being interrupted by greetings and table visits, but even then - I barely had a handful of my entire multi-course meal. Want to know when I got hungry though? ---- About 2 hours AFTER the party was over and there wasn't a thing to eat! So I agree with the people who suggest keeping a small stash of something wherever you'll be spending the night. I was starved for breakfast the next morning too.
