Does height matter?

So, here is the story I am being setup with a girl by my friends. I like the girl because she and I have same interests.

The problem:
She is 5'2" and I am 5'9". I don't know if that is too short. I am not really tall either. It's just that if I marry her I don't want my kids to be short. Her whole family is short.

Height doesn't matter, especially at your stage of the relationship. But if it'll make you feel better here's my story -- I'm 6'3, my wife is 5'1. Our kids are both going to be a lot taller than her, but not as tall as me.

"It's just that if I marry her" - Seriously dude?

It shouldn't matter unless for some reason it makes her unattractive to you.

Oh and my mom is 5'3 my dad is 5'8, I'm 5'11 and my brother is 6'1.

Yeah, I wouldn't think about it going forth either, unless again it affects how attracted you are to her. But that doesn't sound like your case.

Short people need lovin' too.

Two friends of mine were going out for a long time. Dude was 6'2", dudette was 4'11". As long as you're happy, won't matter a damn bit.

Haha.

Most children are always a mix of the parents. You just cant always expect your kid to be taller than the tallest person (usually the father).

My husband's mom was like 5' and his dad was 6'5 - my husband is 6'2.

It will all work out in the end.....oh.....and no need to think about marriage yet when you've barely met the woman! She may or may not be the one for you.

Totally off topic, gibson - you're avatar is soo cute!

If you really like the girl, height shouldn't be a problem... If the height issue seems to be a problem to you then it shows she's not your type... doesn't mean there's something wrong with them and or you... she's probably just not your type...

If you don't know what your physical type is, guess its time to do a little brainstorming on what you do like and what you don't like in girls... and then you'll find out your "type"...

Doesn't hurt to give her a whirl... give it a shot, you'll never know if you like short girls or not until you've been with one...

<~~~ personally likes short girls... just not too short... anything below 4'11 is way to short for me...

Don't worry about kids... your kids will be fine... they'll look like you and the woman you fall in love with, so 110% sure you'll love your kids regardless how they come out... looking like you and/or the love of your life...

The only time a height difference is a problem is if you like to dance.

I've always heard kids get their height from an average of the mothers father and yourself... so average "grandpa to be" on moms sides height and and your own and thats an appx of what the kids will be (boys). my grandpa was 6'1", my dad was 5'9"... I'm 5'10" (I have horrible posture and probably stunted my growth an inch or 2 from so much caffeine as a kid) but I've actually found that this rule is pretty accurate within an inch or 2.

Issues. Serious issues.

Wow. Seek therapy.

female height is proportionate to males... a 6' girl in comparison to other girls where the average height is 5'4" is like a guy whos 6'6" compared to the average male at 5'10"

so i guess a girl whos 6 feet tall would give you a good chance of having tall kids since she came from a tall family.

who the hell knows though... i dont think its an EXACT science... just guess. besides who cares if you have short kids anyway, are we all breeding for the NBA now?

Genetics > you

It just depends. Two tall people will not certainly net a small child.

Not to mention thats the least thing you should be worried about.

Please explain how you could even consider marrying her right now if you've never gone out with her?

My guess, if he's not completely psychotic, is that he's terminally ill and wants to spread his seed before he dies.

My guess is that after she finds out he actually is completely psychotic she'll dump him only to have him call her 3 dozen times a day and show up unannounced outside her door until a judge orders him to stay 300 yards away from her.

Just a guess.

Whose choice was that? I like tall girls. I have 5'9 and I like my girls between 5'7 and up...
They are all leggy and shit its fucking great. Plus if they gain 10 lbs compared to a 5'0 gaining ten pounds...much different.
