Since you have a son, that makes things different. I would search out different areas of GA, so you're not too far from him. I'm sure there are areas where the people are more into things that you seem to be interested in.

 

And you are right.. once you go inside the perimeter of ATL things change, I should probably just get out in the city more. I think I'm just ready for a change of scenery.. the stuff you guys may have heard about Vegas during the NBA All Star game, that is normal where I live and work, just pure ignorance. For example I'm just sitting in my truck right now and this is what I see coming down the street:

Like you said, if you move out of the city it will get better. That's true of most areas. I moved 40 miles south or where I lived before. 100x's cleaner, safer, more family oriented. I'm sure it's the same where you are.

I think it may also be a product of you getting a bit older.

I've been to Atlanta MANY times and seen a lot of mixed race couples, a little surprised you have troubles with others. I sure don't see a problem. I live in northern Indiana, and my GF is Asian, we get some looks, but who the hell cares. It's their problem, not ours. Just date whom you like and ignore the ignorant ones...

I'm yellow dating a white chick. My gf and I met in college and at first she didn't want to date me because she didn't know what her friends were going to think (she was originially from Richmond). And once she got some of that yellow fever, none of that mattered. So far, we've definitely gotten looks and stares while traveling around other parts of VA, but even in Northern VA where there is a ton of diversity and interracial couples, we still get a few looks. It normally doesn't bother me/or I even notice, but recently while staying at a ritzy hotel where I probably was the only majority, I got looks like I wasn't good enough to be dating a white chick and that I didn't belong at the resort. It's just ashame how we haven't changed as a society... No matter how successful you are or how much money you make, for some people, all they see is your color...

To echo what has already been said: date whoever you want and ignore all that crap out there, as long as you're happy, who cares what other people think...

I can't believe some areas down there are still hung up on something as basic as interracial dating.

 

My friend is filipino and his ex-gf's have been:

latina, filipino, and white.

There's nothing wrong with that at all. Although I remember now that he told me that his folks weren't thrilled with him dating the latina gf, not sure why. She had a nice face and a big rack.
