My brother doesn't cook for me.

Back to my food. I do a little olive oil and sea salt before I let it hit the grill for a couple minutes...then I pull it from the grill, lightly brush with butter, and place it in the oven for 5 minutes at 350 as the ravioli boils away. I basically set the water on just as I fire up the grill so that the timing is perfect on both being done.

Nice. I made some marinated zucchini & summer squash the other day...

Sliced them in half, seared them in olive oil for about 4 minutes per side, dressed them in a mixture of salt, pepper, red chile flake, basil and drizzled with red wine vinegar. Let them stew in the fridge for a few hours.

Easy, yummy, refreshing.

I lived with a chef (she was then more specialized as a pastry chef) for 4 years. I had to pick up a little cooking somewhere in there. I determined lately that I had to start cooking more again. I went months without really making anything. That is always a plus to cook for the lady friend. Though when the (I guess you could call her) current one and I were dating the first time around, I hardly ever cooked. Even if I could actually cook pretty well when I was with her...and she was the one I was with before the chef. I guess I just got lazy.

on the zucchini. Zuke is so easy to do well. I quick slice down the middle, chop the ends, smear whatever you life on it, hit the fire.

Good idea on the marinade.

This was lunch...

My quick/ghetto version of Panzanella.

I had excess tomatos last night, so I put them in a quick marinade of basil/balsamic/evoo/salt/pepper... tossed them with some baby romaine and day old bread today

Your fiancee is lucky to pull a dude like you. There aren't many of us that actually like the kitchen. I try to pretend that I'm not good in that dept, but I don't get away with it with Jenna. She knows better now.

I say we keep this thread alive, a daily "What's for Dinner" update would be cool. Always interested in seeing what's cooking.

Not a terrible idea. At least have everyone mention anything cool they've done during the week. Not all of us throw stuff together on a daily basis, but I'm always intrigued by good food and wine.

Taco Salad - beef, tomatoes, onion, seasoning dumped over wholegrain nachos.
Appie - Herbed goat cheese on baguette toasted topped with honey - I might throw cashew halves on the second batch.

Beer for me - Gin/Soda for the wife. Maybe margaritas later... It is hot as hell out there and we have no AC.
