The Subway Thread

Since August is Buffalo Chicken 5 dollar footlong and Colts keeps talking about damn Subway.

Since Buffalo Chicken is this month thats all I go for. Any other time I get spicy italian, BMT, or oven roasted chicken on Italian Herbs and cheese bread..

What do you usually get from Subway when you go.

Haven't eaten there in four months, there food just doesn't get me going. I will buy a sub from there when my son wants to eat there. And then I'm done for many months.

When I was in HS I would get a Seafood and Crab about three times a week, but they have really eff'd that recipe up.

Not a fan since the $5.00 deal. They seem to have f'd up everything to get the price down. I go to Port of Subs now.

I def agree about their quality going down. I haven't been there in about 2 months. Just hasn't been calling me as of late. That seafood and crab used to be ridiculously delicious.

You go to Subway for a Ham and cheese LOL

I used to always get that when I was like 8-9 because I was afraid to try anything else.

Turkey, cheese, green peppers, pickles, black pepper, lettuce, tomatoes. But I havent been there in about 4-5 months and don't really miss it. There are much better places to get sammiches.

Have never ordered meat on a sub from Subway.... Cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and a little bit of sub-sauce. Sometimes I mix up which veggies I throw on...all depends on what I feel like at the time, but is typically like the above combo.

Sweet onion chicken teriyaki w/ lettuce, onions, mayo & sweet onion sauce, sometimes cucumbers or pickles. Cold cut combo on cheap days.

Any local sammich shop in Philly area > Quiznos > Blimbies > Subway

Primo is my local choice

Italian Diablo: sopressata, provolone, capacola, lettuce, tomato, onions, oil

Local shop >>>>>> Jimmy Johns >> Subway

There is a shop that's "local" to me (about 20 minutes away) that makes a KILLER and I mean KILLER sub. The bread is about 6 inches wide, sourdough that's fresh baked and about 20 inches long. On it he puts about 1/2 pound of whatever meats you want EACH (boars head; so if you want say turkey and ham it's a min of 1lb of meat), and any of his custom toppings. He has specials like the 911 Sub (Jalapenos, Pepper Jack cheese, bananna peppers, a specialty mix of siraccha hot sauce and other spices that's marinated into fresh chicken breasts, lettuce, tomato and the like)

Here's his site and let me tell you his pricing is MORE than fair for what you get.

http://www.manzanofinefoods.com/Default.aspx

Then Jimmy Johns is a good contender as well! I get their #11 with the mini-pepper mix.

Subway is okay in a pinch, I usually get the chicken bacon ranch sammich or the tuna.

I only get Subway for either Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki or Buffalo Chicken. For an Italian sub I go to a local place when in PA but down in NC I go to Jimmy John's and get the #5 Vito with hot peppers. New place I found like Quiznos is Firehouse Subs. They are great as well.

I like Jimmy Johns too but IMO what makes Jimmy Johns good is their bread. If it weren't for their awesome bread, it would be ranked near the very bottom.

Btw Jersey Mikes is good too.

Today, I noticed the Roasted Chicken Breast just got smaller. Eating a footlong is not a big deal anymore. 10-15 years ago, a footlong sandwich = Pig.

I just started going to Subway again. I don't know why. Never really liked subway in the past, but it's tasted good the last few times I've been. Usually just go w/ either the special for the month, or Spicy Italian, with everything, on flatbread, just honey mustard.

Occasionally I get a Subway Melt (Turkey, Ham and Bacon) on Parmesan Oregano with cheddar (they got rid of provolone! ) lettuce, tomato, pickles, green peppers and jalapenos. For some reason they ALWAYS "absentmindedly" put black olives on my sandwich.

As soon as I step up and almost cry out "wtf?" they say "owait yu dint ask 4 olives did u? lolol" since they always try to sneak olives on, I get suspicious.

I usually get the chicken breast or ham and turkey. Buy a foot long, split up the sandwich across two days. Loaded with veggies and peppers, and just mustard no cheese. Trying to keep it healthy
