Eggnog (homemade)

Its that time of the year again..

This should serve 8 to 12 people

You'll need:

- A dozen eggs (separate yolks from whites)
- Two cups of sugar
- Two pints of rum, brandy or even bourbon (I usually go with a spiced rum)
- Five cups of milk
- Three cups of cream
- Teaspoon of cinnamon (ground)
- Teaspoon of nutmeg (ground)

(Optionally you can add two teaspoons of vanilla extract)

Beat egg yolks and sugar together, stir in the rum or brandy, milk and cream.

Refrigerate this mixture.

Once thats done, beat the egg whites until they get stiff and stir this into the eggnog. Add the cinnamon and nutmeg.

No its not, I got it from a website a few years ago and I've just tweaked it slightly for my own use.

Sounds very...interesting. I've actually never had eggnog. After seeing the ingredients, I think I'll continue to pass. Is it really that tasty?

It is good but really rich and heavy. I haven't had it in years.
