Black Bean Hummus (pics)
Total time needed: approx 15 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients:
1 Can (26-30oz) Black Beans
3 Cloves Garlic or 1T of minced garlic in jar
1/3 (heaping) cup of Almond Butter
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice (1-2 lemons squeezed)
1 tsp Uncle Brutha's green sauce (Sriricha works too)
1. Drain and rinse beans

2. Squeeze Lemons

3. Add garlic and hot sauce to processor and blend for a few seconds until garlic is minced. I used the pre-minced garlic since I was out of cloves.

4. Add beans, spices, and salt

5. Add almond butter and lemon juice (use a strainer to keep seeds and pulp out)

6. Process for 1-2 minutes occasionally scraping the sides

7. Spoon into bowl and line the edge with olive oil and garnish with parsley

Enjoy it with some pita bread!

Ya...you're right. The black beans can be substituted with chickpeas, or just about any bean for that matter. Normally I use tahini instead of almond butter, but was out of that and decided to experiment. Turned out great.

I would email or call the number on their site. http://www.unclebrutha.com/contact
Ask them if they'd be willing to ship to Canada. They are pretty reasonable and I've never had an issue with their communication.
If that doesn't work, then maybe we could work something out.
