Anyone use their XBOX as a DVD player?

Any pros/cons?

 

Do it all the time, in fact, I don't use my DVD player anymore if the DVD doesn't have DTS...

Pro: well, it is a DVD player, the remote control is very user friendly, more so than my Sony DVD player.
Con: less support for fancy sound, such as DTS (I love DTS! Sounds so good)

 

I use it as my DVD player in my room. It's decent, but it doesn't support Progressive Scan out of the box.. Overall, not a bad DVD player

 

Works great as a secondary DVD player. I keep mine in my room as well.

biggest complaint....no power button on the remote.

 

I use my PS2 as a secondary DVD player also. Anyone know why the sound is so low?

I have to turn up the volume on my TV to almost the maximum to get decent sound, especially in older movies. Is it just me, or are they all like this. Can I do something about it?

 

Thats what we did back at school. My Ebay remote had a range of 6 feet though

 

That's the only problem I have with it........

 

i use it as a dvd.Its really noisy

 

i use mine as a DVD player all the time b/c it's the only DVD player i have, but the guy who modded my xbox told me using it as a DVD player kills the laser noticeably faster than just playing games. i hope he's wrong
