xbox 360 display issues

Last Friday I noticed while playing half life 2: episode 2 that the color was becoming really distorted. The next day when I went to fire it up I had sound but no display. I checked my connections and even tried different cables and TV with no luck. Has anyone had this issue before? Really crappy timing when two great games are coming out next week. Thanks

I've had pollygons shooting off vertexes in numerous FPS games. It got so bad that I said F- it and went out and bought a 360 Arcade version to replace it yesterday.

Question, can you move the hard drive from your old system to the Arcade? Also, do the arcades have the new heat sinks to cool that POS?

Need to know in case such a thing happens to my 360.

The same thing happened to my XBOX that I bought Thanksgiving '06 after only 7 months of ownership. The display would come on sometimes, but finally it stopped coming on and ended up having to send it off for repair, I also had an extended service contract on it, so I was covered all around. I got a refurb unit about 5 weeks later. It was a pain dealing with them though because every time I called, I got a different story every time.

If I ever get an Elite though, I'm getting the replacement plan through the store. That way if I have another issue, I can just go to the store a get another one the same day, rather than waiting weeks (or even months). I'm done with dealing with the manufacturer from now on.

Yes, about the HD. I moved it no problem. I'm not sure about the heatsinks but the new one seems quieter.

This really sucks. I actually modded this box well over a year ago and it ran flawlessly. Oh well looks like I am going to go Ashburner's route .
