I played the new Rainbow Six demo last night, now I want it.

Should I buy a console today, or wait a couple weeks?

 

I don't know, but nowdays you can find them for really cheap (realatively speaking) You should also check out Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. The two look pretty similar.

You can find them cheap on Craigslist (even new ones.) I saw some really good ones on ebay too. I doubt that you will be able to find the premium system with an extra wireless controller and a game for around $400, even after thanksgiving.

@ Costco they have a number of bundles. And you can't beat the return policy. I got mine from there. Been loving it since!

I just found a really good deal on craigslist. This older woman is selling 2 Xbox 360s premium bundles that she and her friend won. She has the receipt from Best Buy and they are brand new and sealed. She has two little kids and doesn't know what to do with them. She's selling them for $325 each (local pick up) I doubt you'll find a better deal anywhere else. Not sure how much more the shipping charges would be. I just bought a 360, but I sold it to my brother so I'll be getting one of these.

 

that's too bad, cause since I've bought my 360 on day #1, I've returned it twice... the only question they asked was " what's wrong with it?"... I told'em... "it froze on me" and that's it... they cashed me out... I'd just grab another one (bundle).

 

oh, and Call of Duty 3 looks amazing too!! It's comes out on this Tuesday!

 

Looks good, I have played so many WWII console games that it doesn't excite me very much though. But the online is supposed to be good.

I got the Xbox I was referring to above and 3 games last night (COD3, WWE...2007 and Rainbow 6) So far I've only played the first battle of COD3 since I was really tired last night when I got home and the game is amazing right from the start! A definite must have.

 

I picked up Marvel on the weekend and so far I was not impressed.

 

not interested in the PS3 just yet. especially given the PS2-like clusterfuck the online component seems to be (games using their own UI over the system UI).

i'll probably pick up a PS3 after prices & demand has cooled, mostly for the Blu-ray drive and SOCOM4 if/when it comes out

i'm just hoping theres some standardization and maturing of development by then.

 

played the Rainbow 6 demo and it was very impressive. should be on par to SOCOM.

Think it was $425 shipped. May have been $430 shipped. And everything was brand new and sealed. I also lucked out b/c the seller made a mistake (wasn't supposed to get the controller), but he said to just keep it... so I did!

Plus now with the PS3 and Wii launch looming, the 360 sellers may even be throwing in more stuff to keep the focus on that system... so snoop around eBay.

 

the only complaint is that it's (mostly) FPS, I was really hoping it would be 3rd person (i.e. GRAW, Splinter Cell), I figure, since it's by Ubisoft AND it's part of the... "Tom Clancy" series... they'd all be the same. I don't know why, but for some reason, FPS games (Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo) gets me kinda dizzy after 30-45 minutes of play...

(actually, Rainbow Six is partial 3rd person, cause when you're suspended or going up/down ladders... you see your guy)

 

I just saw a video review of gears of war...looks incredible. Almost enough to make me think twice about a ps3

no, i didn't get a very good deal...

i got it at Tweeter (didn't even know tweeter sold Xboxs)

included extra wireless controller, play and charge kit, PGR3, the system w/ hdd, and an xbox messenger bag (now Andrew's) for bout $600.

expensive, but... i was already getting the TV there... so made it easy just to bundle it all together.

BTW - I picked up a 360 with the hdd, 1 wireless, headset, Live bundle and PGR3 & NHL 2K7 for $457 CAD at Wal-Mart. Still the best price I've seen in Canuckistan.
