quick question, i just entered outlands last night and my mining is at 285/300 and skinning 300/300 on a lvl 58 UD mage on Scilla. Now i was talking to some guildies who told me to drop skinning and pick up tailoring because of the benefits for the higher level products, is this a wise decision because i never really made that much from skinning anyway?

and also where can i go to top off my mining to 300?

any input is GREATLY appreciated.

 

Tailoring made me rich on my priest. Seriously. I did tailoring/enchanting. Make high level tailored items, disenchant for enchanting reagents. I would definitely drop skinning. I never made any money with it.

Mining to 300 is tough since past a certain point, only Thorium and Dark Iron will give you skill ups. Thorium is found in any 55+ area such as Burning Steppes, etc. Grab your mount, run around the edge of the map and mine.

Get the Gatherer addon if you don't have it already.

most of the high lvl gear is BOP... i would however drop skining.. why did you pick those 2 anyway? get enchant and tail... best for you.. im 290 tail and 320 enchant on my 58 preist alt.

I'm a 310 taylor and haven't made much money yet. I made some good coin on different bags (large quantity enchanting bags and such) but some of the gear that you can make in the higher 300s are not only bad ass for you but can fetch some pretty nice coin.

I would drop skinning and pick up tailoring but just remember that the early levels of making stuff kinda sucks.

just think of how much it is going to cost/time it will take to get tailoring up to 300+ also, before you go and swap professions.

 

I have skinning up to about 320 and engineering still at 300. I haven't done anything except PvP since I hit 70 about 3 months ago.

My lvl 52 Blood Elf pally still doen't have any professions

just hit 70 with my tank last night in SH. I quit playing WoW for about 5 months or so and just started back up again.. I also hit 60 on my priest a few days ago.. One more toon to get to 70.. Did you guys see the new exp pack was announced

took me two days to get up to 165 tailoring while leveling. not to bad if you know where to farm and can AOE

Yeah great, will come out just about the time I have spent countless hours getting all my lvl 70 gear. Then, i can go out and replace all my epics with better greens again. Woot!

from what i understand there are going to be 8 'hero classes' to be unlocked by getting to level 80. only one of which was announced 'dark knight' if i remember correctly.
*speculation incoming* i think this will be based off of the necromancer class in diablo 2...how friggin cool would that be?


Edit: I also forgot to mention that when you do finaly get your char up to level 80, of course you are going to have to re-roll a 'hero class' so and to my social life

 

BC was announced about a 1.5 years before it came out... and i feel you boogie.. all my lvl 60 epic gear is collecting dust in my bank and now my lvl 70 epic gear will be collecting in the bank once exp pack comes out..

 

Sad to admit but the reason my name on here is LSBoogie is because of WOW. LS=Life Sentence (the guild I started that turned into a raiding monster) Boogie, because my toons name is Boogieman.

I quit playing because, with the family, I couldn't do un interrupted 4 hour raids without get hit with a pyroblast from the wife.

I'm back now and grinding my way to 70 (currently 64...sigh...)to mainly do arena's and other pvp.

To stick with the OP, I'm trying to level my tailoring up to get the spell weaver thread stuff.
