I won a $50 Walmart GC from work, and I was considering using it on a video game. Now keep in mind I could use this card for something else I need, like oil or LEGO, and get a game used from a different source.

With that in mind, I can't even remember the last game I bought. Probably Splinter Cell Conviction on sale earlier this year. I've made a list of some candidates, with some reasons why I'm hesitant on some of them. Some of these I'd be better off finding used, obviously.

Black Ops.
---Why I might not get it: Might not live up to MW2.

NFS Hot Pursuit
---Last few NFS games have been hot garbage

Assassin's Creed 2
---Didn't really get into the first one.

Fable 3
---God-awful reviews.

Halo Reach
---Still haven't played 3.

Super Mario Galaxy 2
---Still haven't finished the first one

Goldeneye
---Can't think of a bad reason besides it's on the Wii

Fallout 3 GOTY
---Did they ever fix the glitches? Still pricey used.

Epic Mickey
---Will it be as good as the early reviews?

That's what I've got so far. If there are any others, post them up.

EDIT: Playing online MP really doesn't interest me unless it's with people I know.

But of the games you listed, I don't know anyone who doesn't like COD: BO. Half of the people on my friends list got it day one and have been on it since...dropped MW2 completely. AC2...know a couple of people who really like it, but they liked the first one...given that, you might want to skip it; maybe pick it up for $10-15 down the road.

 

AC2 is remarkably better than the first one. And COD:BO is great as well.

AC2 is quite a bit better than the first, but the dlc is pretty much worthless. Just keep in mind that it goes for 20 dollars at Gamestop.

If you haven't already got it, I'd suggest Super Mario Bros Wii.

 

Got that. Picked up Black Ops with a $20 GC at TRU. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Fallout 3 was one of my favorite games. There atmosphere was just great. The main story was kinda meh, but the side quests made up for it. People have complained about the same scenery everywhere but it doesn't bother me as I like the scenery. I put in about 140 hours and still haven't beaten the last 3 DLC.

It's not for everyone, but it was a home run for me.
