What game(s) are you playing right now...?

I’m hoping that you could help me again. I’m completed stuck. I took the train the the sorcery lab area and completed that area. I have acquired the transport ray and double jump shards, but I have gone to all the areas I could possibly think of that I could use those shards. Thought I could get through the upper cathedral area as I see it links up with the machina area, but I couldn’t. Same with the underground area. I did make it to the what I think is the end boss guy and defeated him only to get a game over since it’s says there are still demons and more to do in the game.
I did defeat that red umbrella lady that was bathing in blood. I’m just not sure if I could use that shard from her to advance in the game somehow. I do remember that blonde lady mentioning the pool of blood room. I also need to acquire a couple of keys (millionaire and horseman) but also have no idea how/where I’d get those as well. Thanks.

The hitch right now I think is you have not gone into the water. And you will need a bit luck and patience but, you need to find a place in the parts of the accessible Underground Waterway where you can float around and fight some of enemies that resemble those squid-like things from the boat. These are a bit stronger and if you kill enough, you'll get the ability to move around underwater with their shard.
This is where the game's warped sense of humor will take over when you go underwater for the first time...but, things will improve if you explore and advance the game, thankfully. LOL.
Hope this helps!

I was actually wondering about a swimming shard. This game is great, but you really have to back track a lot and explore I find. Oh well, I guess it’s better than just going in a straight line right to the end lol. Thanks again!

Yeah, I only discovered the water-movement shard when I went farming for enemies I did not kill yet and found these squid-like things in water that I could float above water but also kill (used the Welcome Company Shard -- which BTW, is probably the best one in the game if you have not discovered it yet). I check regularly in my enemies list to see what I've killed and what drops those kills have yielded...it's sort of the only way to get the material and etc. you need to advance the game and build some insane weaponry and armor.

Yeah I’ve pretty much been using welcome company (upgraded too) since I obtained it. I also have the silver knight alongside which can be helpful. This game is like a rabbit hole lol. I’ve explored about 55% of the map so far.

Pulled my Xbox 360 out of the closet and started playing Red Dead Redemption. I completed Read Dead Redemption 2 on PC. Red Dead Redemption 1 is really good. I can't believe it was released in 2010.

Not yet. I really wanted to but with GT7 around the corner, I'll wait...this saves me a bit of money as ER will for sure be cheaper when I go after it maybe in late-Spring/early-Summer.

I finally finished the game last night! Beat the final bosses in my second try. Still have a couple of the side bosses to defeat, but it’s all pretty much completed. Thanks again for your help throughout the game.

Jesus lord Sekiro is hard. What a learning curve and super fun but frustrating. Some major mental rewards for beating the bosses and a ton of mini bosses that they throw at you. The fighting is really cool and completely different from the Souls games and when it clicks, it feels great. The tag for the game is "Hesitation is Defeat". Indeed it is.

^ Sounds like Sekiro is more offense-oriented -- like Bloodborne (without a gun to use)?

Depends on style for Bloodborne tbh but yeah obviously no tank mode. However, in Sekiro, the way you win is not by aggressively attacking mindlessly, you HAVE to learn to parry and block to build up the enemy's posture meter which opens them up to instant death. Many characters won't die from losing all their HP. There are essentially two health bar meters: HP and posture.

Here's a sample. This was a near perfect fight after several fuck ups. When he swings a normal swing, you tap L1 to parry (time it perfectly for him to lose posture energy which is the meter in the middle). When the red kanji comes up, and he is thrust attacking, it's a move that you can use a special counter for so you spam circle. If a red kanji and it comes from the side, you jump and do a head stomp. R1 slashes lower his posture meter more until the red dot appears which allows you to kill him. You'll see that a sneak attack in the beginning is a free red dot. Had I gone in guns blazing, I'd have to take out his posture meter or lower his HP TWICE.

Man Sekiro is fucking hard. I was on this one boss for like 3 days. Dude was a beast but I think he's top 3 hardest boss in the game so pretty happy with that win. I don't know if I can do NG+ on this but I am close to beating the game (assuming I can actually kill the last few bosses). Sometimes it's really cheap. Like the aforementioned boss could potentially one-shot you if you royally fuck up. Some of the other bosses require consumable items that take a while to farm just to take off damage. It's a really challenging game but the fighting is fucking crisp.

Ok a month later I beat Sekiro even though I said above I was almost done To my defense I was out of the country for a week and it's a fucking chore to beat a boss. Game is so fucking hard and frustrating. Doubt I'll do NG+, let alone platinum, but let's see how I feel in a few days. Every Fromsoft game is dead, this, Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne, both versions of Demon's Souls. Next game something more lighthearted like Guardians of the Galaxy.

Kids got a couple Switch games over Christmas.
Been getting in some Mariokart 8
Might give the new Zelda a shot as well, if MK gets old.

Shelved MarioKart & picked up Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Haven't played a Zelda game since Ocarina of Time. Took a bit to get used to & the weapons/shields breaking makes it tough.
