I did not play the Joker DLC stuff...so, can't tell you much. But, get Arkham City...it's arguably better than Asylum.

I've been playing the only game I own, Counter-Strike on my Mac.

Something very nostalgic about it. Guess it's because I've been playing it for 15 years? Lol

Still playing GTA5 online. I've finished everything I care to do with the story. I picked up Lollipop Chainsaw the other week...so it could sit in the stack with my unopened-for-over-a-year Ico/Shadow of the Colossus. I hadn't planned on getting it, but had a 20% off coupon from Gamestop plus several old games I wasn't able to get rid of on CL so I had to trade them in. One of these days I'll get around to those games, as well as pick up GoW Ascension.

 

OMG amazing. First of all I love great stories in games which is why I love MGS. But the play was easy and very fluent. The fact that they had the voice acting from Batman TAS was bacon gravy and cake frosting put together. VEry addicting game once you get into it and I'm looking forward to City. It's only $20 so I might pick it up this weekend or wait to finish Walking Dead S2E1. And I'm waiting for your review of MGSGZ. God that game will be awesome. Go check out Hideo Kojima's twitter feed. He posts awesome MGS stuff.

Honestly I lost interest with SotC. The control is clunky, there's no story, the bosses are a PITA to find, and yeah it looks great but I missed the boat on the PS2 graphics. Just not for me unfortunately. Maybe I'll finish it one day.

 

Cool...I figured that we had similar tastes for 3rd-person platform/adventure games and so, you would LOVE the Batman Arkham games.

I may have mentioned it prior but hold off on Origins...it's not inventing anything new and is arguably weakest of the 3 games. The storyline does not really extend anything.



I'm literally counting down the minutes for MGSV...it's THE reason why I bought the PS4.

 

Thanks for the tip. I saw above what you posted and read online how glitchy Origins is. Should've stayed with Rock Steady I guess I'll likely plow the Bioshock series now that Infinite was free before hitting Origins. When MGSV drops, I'll be SUPER jealous of PS4 people!!

Well, honestly, while it is NICER, it's not truly light-years ahead. I think you'll be okay on the PS3.

This is not like going from PS2 to the PS3.

 

got into the titanfall beta this morning.

took me a few times to get used to it, but this is some seriously frantic gameplay.

call of duty, mirrors edge, and hawken all in one game.

Did Walking Dead 400 Days. Literally a 2 hour game that is supposed to affect the Season 2 game which I haven't started yet. Still as usual great writing and hard choices.

Started up Arkham City. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! And I thought Asylum was pretty perfect.

 

Wrapped up Assassin's Creed IV. Downloaded the demo for "Trine 2"...kinda fun; quite pretty too.

Anyone ever play the game? I may purchase it...although, I'm also tempted to get the DLC for "The Last of Us".

Great, great game. The only thing that may have you swearing a few times is trying to get all the Riddler Trophies...but, otherwise, this game is a gem.

 

I typically don't do side stuff like Riddler trophies in games but I had to get all of them in Asylum. I needed You Tube help on the like the last 6 or 7 but out of 200+ not bad . There's so much to City. Holy shit. And of course the story is insane. When does Batman sleep

I played the demo of The Last of Us. Didn't care for the fighting but eventually I'll give it a chance since everyone creams all over this game.

 

Yeah, TLoU is a great game...I agree that when I first played it, the combat mechanics felt clunky. But, that's not where the strength of the game lies...it's that story...it's IMO among the best.

 

BTW big sale this week for Rockstar games and you don't need PS+. Got L.A. Noire for $7.50 and the DLC pass for $2.99. They also have Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne, etc for cheap. Plus a new Strider game came out. Already requested the demo to d/l when I turn on my PS3.

 

Any of the old GTAs on sale? Manhunt?

I loved Strider for the NES. Might check out that demo, as well.

Manhunt is $2.49 No GTA4 sale here but I think Gamefly has a sale on it. It's well under $20 used and the games there are in great condition.

I actually remembered to check out the store last night when I got home. Saw Manhunt...definitely will be getting that. No interest in the trash that was GTA4; I was hoping GTA:VC and GTA:SA would be on sale, even if just 50% off. At $10 and $15, respectively, I think they're a little high considering there's no trophy support and they weren't remastered in HD. Downloaded the Strider demo, as well...looking forward to that.

All in all, I appreciate the heads up. Who knows when I would've seen the announcement on the scrolling feed on the XMB.

 

Was playing Dante's Inferno last month, but gave up on the last boss battle. Sh*t is just ridiculously frustrating!

Since then, I've played and beaten Vanquish and Enslaved.

So now I'm(was) trying to play Dark Souls(why they mapped RT/RB as attack, instead of X/Y, is beyond me!), but after dieing about a million times in the 2nd part after the tutoral, I've given up! Games are not supposed to be this frustratingly hard, IMHO!

Next up...Uncharted 3.

Hey Yum, I beat the Batman story of Arkham City. Ok I binge played a few times for hours and might have skipped a meal . What an awesome story. Gotta love Joker's singing in the credits too .

I watched House of Cards (season 2) in two days...currently going through Dexter. Once I knock out a couple more achievements on GTA, I'll probably start playing the other games I have collecting dust.

 

Almost finished (I think) with UC3. I need to play 1 and 2 now, great game.

Playing Lego Marvel Super Heroes with the kids, game is great.

Also have The Last of Us still sitting in the shrink wrap. Will get on that soon.

 

Still between games...a rest before I pick up MGS for the PS4. This month!

 

Warframe still, but started playing an indie city-building game - Banished. Steam sales describe it as Starving Simulator 2014

It's like Sim City, but dumbed down. Mainly because just one guy developed the entire game

Finished UC:3, weak ending IMO. Granted, I never played 1 or 2, but still, kinda sucky. Game was great though.

Started Tomb Raider. Great so far, I am really liking it. Plus it was free, so can't complain. Thinking of picking up MGS once it gets cheaper on the bay.

Last of Us is next after I finish Tomb Raider

 

Wrapped up the main mission on MGSV yesterday. Yep, rather short...but, there is definitely quite a bit of replay value. Going to start up the side missions tonight if I can...

Can't wait for the full game. I hear it is a 2015 release though.
