hmmmm, i dont have my ps2 on me, so i couldnt tell, but i swear i only saw USB connections. I dont have the new slim. I got the normal PS2. Same right?

On a side note, I loved how most of the registers (15/20?) were staffed when they open (and not busy), yet when I usually go in around 11-12 (busier), there's only 7-8 that are staffed. Fawk Smitty and Target!

this is not much of an improvement over SOCOM 2.

the only thing i definately like better is the ability to customize your weapon. beyond that, its pretty shitty. especially graphics wise... it's AWFUL.

not yet decided on game play, only played a few rounds with Huy so far. game as a whole though is rather disappointing.

Will take some time to get used to everything. So far i've only played the respawn rooms. All the guns seem pretty even except the M16 with the 4X scope. The gun is sick it's pretty much a sniper rifle. I'm not feeling the game play seems like everything moves way too fast. Reminds me of that gay Ghost Recon game they had online. I'm sure it will get better once zipper listens to all the complaints and fixes minor bugs with patches. It's def worth the buy at $38.99 but this will def be splitting playing time with Socom 2.

 

When was the last time you booted up Socom 2? The environment is much more detailed in the new game. Many more bushes etc that appear more dense and lifelike. Also, when looking through a scope the graphics look better too. It still pales in comparison to Halo 2's graphics but the gameplay is better IMO.

I've only been booted once and I'm not sure if it was related to their server or not because my PS2 froze when it happened.

 

^^^^ I forgot to mention. I did get booted after 4 hours of playing. Came at the perfect time since it was past my bedtime and I was getting hooked.

 

Agreed wasn't expecting any changes there.. All they do is add more crap..

I think graphics are better then Socom II but compared to other games they aren't so hawt..

I love the vehicles and tanks and boats..

Got booted once.. But I expect more to come..

Overall I like this game(not a suprise) but I enjoy the more realistic game play and overall feel..

 

You adjust your strafe and the way you move, it's all customizable..

 

Agree with whoever said this is more like Ghost Recon than SOCOM.

 

Man, i'm going to keep trying to like this just because I enjoy playing with ya'll but it's pretty hard for me to see why anyone would choose this over something like Battlefield 2. It's essentially a clone of the early version of that game with worse graphics/realism.

This is definately not a GOOD game overall. 2 outta 5 stars.

 

This is ALOT like Ghost Recon in the way that it's short SUPER REPETITIVE games. There's very little variance... it feels like your moves are scripted.

 

I tried playing single player last night and it was lame. Very repetitive. However the online games seem to be a lot more fun. A lot of people are still just learning to play or are getting used to the differences between SC 2 and SC 3. I think it'll get better in time.

The nice thing is if you create a room and just leave it on medley it'll randomly select which type of mission (demo, breach, escort, etc) so it doesn't get old running for the bomb, etc. over and over again.

 

Im talking about online, i havent even attempted single player.

and there's still ALOT of lag, and again, it's ghey ass SOCOM lag where you don't feel it yourself but everyone else looks lagg so u have people blaming each other for lag...

this definately isnt a total rebuild

 

I will say though, I like the hurricane katrina map

... and the AK47 is wayyy too deadly at range. isn't that gun known for its inaccuracy?

 

also incredibly annoying how you cant get back into main screen to see who else is online/where while you're in a game. the UI sucks, reminds me even more of ghost recon in this respect.
