PS4, PC: Rocket League
I've played 17 hours since Thursday - do I have a problem?
Basic premise for the game is Soccer + Cars - very simple, very fun and it uses the latest Unreal 4 engine
Another cool thing is it's a cross platform game supporting PC & PS4.
Here's a video of the gameplay (I'd recommend muting, I hate how every gameplay video has commentary in it )
Anybody play it? Thoughts?
I absolutely love it, it has the same satisfaction of Super Smash Bros smashes and totally reminds me of Top Gear when they did their football matches with cars

Not sure when it'll be available for the XB1, but certainly worth it for PS4 owners (co-worker said he got it free?)
For PC users, it's $19.99 on Steam.
For those who have played it, these are the kind of goals that make you do the Peggy Hill "Hoo yea!"

Still playing this game quite frequently, I'm now at 74 hours and steadily building rank
Standard matches are fun and the match making is effortless, especially with Steam friends.
They've cleared up a lot of laggy server-side issue(s) over the last couple of weeks and recently pushed a small update a few days ago. New map, vehicles, music, decals, Ranked 3v3, etc.
Full update notes here:

Best $20 I've spent in awhile, great alternative to get away from the norm (FPS / MMO, etc)

I picked it up when it was free on PS4 last month. Very fun to play. I unlocked the sweet tooth vehicle recently.

Bumping an old-ish thread.
Cross-platform play coming to Rocket League as Xbox Live opens up to other consoles | Polygon
Woot! Xbox One joining PC for cross-platform play! Other platforms will follow
I still play a few hours a week due to a busy schedule.
Anybody play?

Yes - 2v2s / 3v3s / 3v3 Solos / 4v4s
Agreed, alone is pretty meh (unless it's 3v3 Solo competitive), but playing with friends makes the whole game experience worthwhile (and some).
The rank system has recently changed too.

4v4 (to my knowledge).
In my opinion, adding more than 8 players to their map sizes is almost too much.
I personally enjoy 2v2 & 3v3s the most because the teamwork & strategy really comes into it's own. Once your team gets down rotation, not shadowing your teammates / double covering, effectively clearing the ball out of your goal, aerials & redirecting passes down field .. you'll be pretty much unstoppable.

it's not too hard... just takes a lot of play time... getting used to the mechanics... you will be hitting sick aerials before you know it... when people tell me im good I tell them they haven't met some of my friends lol...

I'm Rising / Shooting Star in 2s / 3s / 3s Solo, but I have a few friends that are way up in the ranks and playing with them is downright depressing.
Opponents are ridiculously good.
I've played with keyboard & mouse since I started and have gotten decent, but I recently purchased a 360 Controller for Windows and I'm going to give it a shot tonight.
Time to relearn the game
