Gundam is made for the Japanese folks. Doesn't surprise me one bit that the writer complained about the lack of "style"...

But other than that, I think he is right on about the game. Bandai isn't really known for making great Gundam shooters...Char's Counter Attack on PS1 is still my all-time fav Gundam shooter.

Wow, that looks amazing!!!

sahme it only runs at 3 frames per second.
The biggest offender by far is combat - the one aspect that really needed to work. The problems stem from multiple directions, but the first worth discussing is the framerate. Holy Moses, is this game slow. At times it feels like watching a Gundam slideshow. And no, that is unfortunately not a joke of any kind. About the only time the game runs decently is when the environments lack detail of any kind - trees, buildings and rivers. And this rarely happens. Not that the locales in Crossfire appear overly complex, in fact they all look rather simple. But this doesn't stop the game from running poorly most of the time. Heaven forbid more than one mobile suit appear at the same time - in the middle of structures - because then it's curtains. The game just about dies.

I thought the PS3 was a powerful god of a machine and could actually handle something like this.

Well, it beats flipping through a Hypermook or Hyper-Hobby magazine?

Well troll, Bandai has a very rich history of releasing some of the worst launch games in Japan. It doesn't really have anything to do with the hardware itself, they are just being lazy.

I would have liked if it ran smoothly. I'm completely serious when I say it looks awesome, and that it's a shame that it runs so badly.

The I have are the ratings you see in Japan for the game.

not bad review. maybe the ign peopel just sucked.

I found some vids at youtube of it in action,a nd it looks pretty sweet, but there definintely were some glitches going on. nothing like the uber-slowdown that was mentioned int he IGN review though. It slowed down for a second when he was taking on a couple other suits, but not for too long.

the control seemed really picky though.

The official website has a trailer of this game from Tokyo Game Show 06.

http://ps3-gundam.net/trailer.html

For a next-gen game, it looks pretty bad IMO.

This game got a 2/10 from 1up. They said it was probably the worst game they played in 2006 which is quite an accomplishment. Further proof Bandai games lately are horrible.

I was watching the footage of the gameplay on X-play, and boy was it bad. The physics were horrible. The water in the game bounced up and down like fabric, the AI was completely retarded, and it was so laggy. GJ Bandai.
