PS2 -> Wii
PS2 -> Wii
Ever since I got a PS2 for Xmas, I have been spending and spending $$$ to get the accessories and games. I feel like I have fallen to the corporate of marketing trap!
Should I stop and stop right now and get myself a Nintendo Wii instead since the PS2 is... well... so yesterday.

Besides, don't you have Resident Evil 4 to finish...?

Unless I'm mistaken, the Wii's graphics aren't that much better than the GameCube's...? You sure you weren't looking at screens of cutscenes...?

Wii is indeed fun...but, honestly, I got bored of it quickly when I played it during the holidays at a friends place. It's neat...but, the novelty wore off on me.
Of all the 3 new consoles, if you MUST get one, I'd go for the Xbox 360...unless you want to be a fool like me and get the evil PS3.

saying they are the same would be like saying a pentium 2 is the same as a pentium 1.

and to the question asked by the first poster. it's up to you. have you played a wii yet? if not give it a shot first. some people don't like it, others really do.
i have a wii and a 360, and honestly I play them both about the same amount. I'd probably play the 360 a bit more if I had more games, or there were games out that i hadn't already played to death at my friends house.
As for teh wii getting old. it hasn't for me yet. I currently have need for speed carbon out on my gamefly rental and just want to keep coming back to it. something about steering with the wiimote is so much more sastisfying than with a joystick.

bz268, to be honest, I have not played the Wii for a while since I beat Twilight Princess. The only other game I have for it is Wii sports and Excite Truck. I only got Excite Truck because I bought the Costco package that came with Twilight Princess and Excite Truck. I haven't even opened Excite Truck. No interest in it what so ever. Wii sports is only fun when there is a group of people. There is not much games out there for the Wii. You've got more choices for PS2. I was still playing with my PS2 until Guitar Hero II came out for 360. I guess I won't be playing either one of them until something good comes out for them. I probably won't be playing PS2 anymore because I doubt any new game will come out for it that will interest me. I can only see me play it if someone wants to play Guitar Hero together. So you just gotta see what games you want to play and decide.

On another note, the Gamecube and the Wii version has better graphics than the ps2 in RE4 and the GC and the Wii have the exact same graphics since Capcom just port it over.
