Dead Space, definately takes the win in this catagory, by far

I have played all the Resident Evils, Silent Hills, all the Dooms, etc, none of them even come close to the Dead Space. That game was straight up disturbing.

I will give Bioshock second, slightly less scary only because it didn't feel as real as Dead Space, but it was still creepy as hell and very weird.

As I said in the previous page...You need to try Aliens Vs. Predator. You haven't played anything yet.

I thought the first Silent Hill was way scarier than SH2. Just the crude graphics alone kind of made the nasty stuff seem worse. I was scared shitless at the school... when you're in the locker room then that body falls out of one of the lockers... or when you see that weird crucifixion-thing in the girls bathroom stall... They get me every time...

I've been thinking about picking up Dead Space, but I've read a lot of bitches about the game's control scheme. At least on the PC version with a mouse. Also read a few complaints that the quality of the game's textures wasn't up to par even for its own time. What say thee?

I overall think it's a pretty damn solid game. The controls aren't bad and the story is pretty good.

Dead Space is a great game, I highly recommend it. I know different people find different things more scary. It might have to do with the fact that when I was playing it I was alone in my apartment at night from about 10pm to 2am lol

And furthermore, it is a relatively long game, it's not something you're going to beat in one sitting. That's a really nice thing.

Dead Space....You actually feel as if you're the main protagonist of the game (A weak and helpless engineer who is trapped in this alien infested spaceship). I like the Silent Hill series, and though I've beaten most of the Resident Evil games, the stories in those games are just silly. So yeah, Dead Space is the way to go!

How is it...?? I'm a bit on the fence for it since it didn't get great reviews.

And only you can tell us how scary it is on the Marine campaign.

Playing as the marine is just motion sensor going off and everything.
playing as the predator is just siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick! playing as the alien is totally different compared to other fps because of the ability to walk on the ceiling and walls. online is crazy and pretty leveled out. as the marine you can block melee attacks from the predator and alien. must have if you're a fan of the avp seriess
