oh yeah I decided to keep all time trials at the top of page 9, just for ease of location... so that's the post I've updated with all the new infos, so the page number on the thread title didn't need to be changed.

It says Page 9 in the title. Go to Edit Thread in the Thread Tools up top. I'm a Senior (Mega) Mod at V6P. I'll be happy to teach you how to moderate my young padawan.

1'15.805 so far but I can shave time off. I love the course/car combo Srika. I notice if I screw up in one part of the track, the car gets very pissed until the end of the lap.

umm.. it is supposed to be Page 9. Did you try clicking on Page 9? I thought leaving all the new challenge info on the same page will make it easier for everyone, it will always be page 9 for new challenge info.

yeah the car is not HARD to drive with aids off... but if you bite it, it'll bite you right back.

ps. when I said n00b mod, I meant, at this site. I was one of 3 people that started Supraforums - i.e. was Admin there. I saw that place being born - becoming something from nothing. But that was a long time ago... in a galaxy far away. Don't know if you've ever been there recently but... yeah it just ain't the same.

RM = Race Medium = R2

I always wondered where you were getting R2 from, lol. I always thought that:

R1 = Hard
R2 = Medium
R3 = Soft
R4 = Supersoft

???

In NTSC-J version we got R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5.

R2 = hard.

ok glad we got that sorted out - good call. I have to use Racing: Hard.

Now, for Sports tires, what do you have? S1, S2, and S3?

Yes, S1, S2 and S3. But I think sports tires are the same in all versions.

S1 = hard
S2 = medium
S3 = soft

ok well... glad I chose the right tires for the past races.

my best so far for this timetrial (with the correct tires) is 1'11.6 - can't believe there is that much difference between medium and hard - I was down to 1'09.7 using medium.

Wait I'm confused. Are you using RH or RM? I can't break 1'13.863 with RH.

WTF!!! I know I suck at these time trials but how are you guys hitting 1:10's. I can't shave time off anywhere. I hit T1 at like high 20 second mark. I gotta recheck T2 and T3. The long continuous right after the first long straight, how are you guys taking that?

My first run was around 1'20. Keep trying and you will be there.

My time was with RH as well. I have to admit that I did at least 30+ laps before getting that time. My first try was a 1'15. Eventually, I got down to 1'11.8xx and I stuck there for a long time.

it's tricky. there are about 3 places where, if you don't take the right line (and there is only one right line) - your times will be 2-3 seconds off.

Well that long right after the straight right after the T1 marker I start by breaking on the left side and going to the right to not understeer into the dirt on the left side for when it esses to the left right before the pair of tunnels. I don't go to the left since it esses back to the right into the first tunnel so I kind of just go from the right side of that initial long turn to a straight line into the tunnel. But I pick up too much speed for that left after the tunnel and bring it down to 2nd. I am on the right side going from right to left so I think I'm doing it right. What do you guys do differently?

bingo - that is one of the key turns where you can lose a lot of time. Brake early (but don't brake too much), dip into the apex, hold, and power out. You should be doing 130+ coming out of that apex.

T1 is another key turn - you can keep a lot of speed here if you take it smooth - it is tough. You will lose a lot of time if you go too slow through there.

Another big key is the middle section.

And then... everything you've done can be nullified all too easily.... if you screw up on the final turn.

what a challenge!

Yeah that final turn can mean spinning out in the dirt, going to slow through it, or victory.

umm.. last night I realized this was wrong.. you should be doing 100+ coming out of the apex, not 130+ - you will be doing 130+ coming out of the tunnel.

i am partying out and yea it's going to be a hell of a time.

well after about 40 laps in i have a 1:12.485. my weekest points is the second turn going up the hill. i seem not to have a good line through there. the last turn i know i can take atleast .5 out of a lap if i can get a decent line, maybe even a whole second. other then that i have the infield mastered i believe. well back to playing. and what is sleep?
