1'01.960... after about 9 laps... damn this thing is a little beast isn't it. I have trac on, arcade mode. There is definitely more in it, but I'm having some issues with my controller.... I think it's time to get the wheel..

i think for the rules you should put in "no oil change" for new cars and "oil change allowed" for used cars

Actually I purposely picked a rather high-hp RWD car for Tsukuba because I wanted to make sure it was challenging. Guess it is. Ok I'm gonna try a few laps now.

High HP car isn't the issue imho. This car is odd, you can't rush it. If you rush you're f'd. It's very loose and the chasis tuning is horrid. The slower you go on that track the faster the times are.

the saving grace of this car is the power to weight ratio......

Tried a few more laps this morning just for fun, this time with TCs on, and came to 1'02.255. I think I found a few better trajectories, so I'll try and apply them to a tidy lap. Should do for an easy 1'01.5

Man I used this car in the Tsukuba track on a single race against EVO 6,7, and 8's and a Cougar XR-7 and was royally owned. The TVR's are always tough to drive in these games. I remember the Speed 8 in one of the license tests I think in part 1 was a bitch to manuever. Them and the Aston Martins.

yeah I had TCS off first, and I was doing some serious drifting... I mean some of the best drifting I've done in GT4 = it was a lot of fun but lap times were down...

it was much easier to drift in GT3 - something I actually don't like about GT4 - I wish it was easier to drift... if you want to, at least.

Same here. TCS really helped traction out of corners.

My time is now down to 1'01.862. There's still a lot of improvement to be had. Still experimenting on my passes. Sector 3 is sooo tricky.

I hear you... but it's not so bad with the T350C... try it out.

I think the trickiest part of Tsukuba is the final sweeping turn...

Update

CURRENT STANDINGS:
1. sauceman 1'01.387
2. srika 1'01.960
3. MSZ 1'02.314
4. vwong (yet to play )

Getting tougher to improve. I know I can maybe improve sector 1 by 15/100ths, but sectors 2 and 3, I nailed pretty well on that run. Exit speed from the final curve is all important to get a nice 1st sector. That means you need to prepare a hot lap from a bad one

it was much easier to drift in GT3 - something I actually don't like about GT4 - I wish it was easier to drift... if you want to, at least.
Cars in GT3 didn't come with sport tires I think?

N2 tires in GT4 are very realistic IMO.

maybe that's what it is... the TVR was very easy to drift though... so maybe I was just using the wrong tires... dunno.

If sauce keeps improving his time, I might have to withdraw from this round then.

I'm done for now. I'll need incentives to improve.

You gotta aim high. I'm shooting for under 1 minute.

I seriously doubt I'd be able to go below 1'01, unless I "find" something.

yea.. I was just playing along with vwong... I don't feel anything under a minute, at all. I do feel something under 1'01.387, though.

1'02.579 after 22 laps.

I thought you knew cars Srika. Nobody craves to own a TVR.

A speed of 93mph is possible when you cross the line. This car hates to be thrown around at a high speed. All TVR's have always been like that since GT1. They have shitty attitudes with shitty traction. Until next week.

22 laps good god... and... I do know cars.

heh.. to each his own. All I know is, I would rock a TVR Tuscan Speed Six so fast... you wouldn't even see me.

TVRs are masculine cars, pure testosterone cars, like many other British brutes, and alike to the TestaRossas.

To a lesser extent, a North American brute of it's resemblance would maybe have been the likes of a Duster 340 back in the day.
