Nothing set in stone, but I am interested to see what the gamers on the forum will be purchasing as their next systems (or have already purchased in the case of the 360)

I voted the Wii because as much as I enjoy gaming, I will not have an HD tv when I move back on campus and will be spending the $400 I saved on boose and bitches

Have 360.

Definitely buying Wii.

Might buy PS3, depending on if I want a Blu Ray player and if the prices of stand alone units are still high.

Definitely a Wii, maybe a 360 if I have enough disposable income available.

Bought a 360 because my Xbox burned out, will for certain be buying a Wii.

Will have to resist the call of Devil May Cry 4 on the PS3 for as long as I can.........

Definetly the Wii, I'm reserving it as soon as stores start taking them.

I'm amazed with how many people are going to get the PS3.

Are you really gonna spend $600 for a few specific games? I don't care how much shit they have packed into that box, I just want to play games.

I can understand that, as I've heard that japanese developers are prefering the PS3 due to sony's higher popularity in japan, and the 360's "failure" at launch there, but $600?

you have to agree that's a rediculous price.

From Famitsu(Japan's top gaming magazine), the hardware sales in Japan in April:

PS2: 24827
XB360: 2852

One point I am keeping in mind through this whole anticipation period is that Sony and Microsoft have pretty much left the market that they were in. In terms of sales numbers, little kids have very little voice but huge market share, especially with Nintendo. If you are a parent and have an 8yo and a 10yo, which console looks like a better xmas present?

how is that relevant to what I said? I know the ps_ is more popular than the 360 over there, but considering those DS sales numbers ... If the Wii sells like that the japanese developers will be ALL OVER it.

I honestly think it will sell like the DS. It's cheaper, and it focus's on playing games, not on being an all-in-one multimedia center. the main factor in high sales being the price point. I can almost guarantee the Wii will sell out this holiday season, no matter how many units are produced.

Actually it was my mistake. I didn't mean to quote your last post.

But from a Japanese gamer's stand point, XB360 means absolutely nothing to us.

It's key attractions are:

-It's cheap(less than $250), and considering nintendo's track record with quality, it will be worth it.
-It has the virtual console, so it'll have old school games (NES, SNES, N64, turbogfx, and backwards compatible with gamecube) available for download and new games for cheap that can be downloaded.
-cool control style, might be more fun that the usual dual analog setup for certain things.
-nintendo first party games.
