my new slim ps2 wont let me connect to the internet

i just bought a slim ps2... and my cat5 is live and connected, yet i'm getting no signal from the ps2, its really frustrating me

not sure if you need to still set up your netwrok connect like you do on the older ps2s but u may want to try that.. there was netwrok disk that came with the network adpt.
