This is awsome. SMITTY. we can play that game. I havent seen Much HYPE on it. But look it up online. you should be able to find things about. Or if maybe our fellow acurazine video game console experts here have clips of websites for us. Also remember there is 25 to life still comming out. And they might even delay it to make some few adjustments for the 360.
hey by the way i saw these previews on a game called 187 soemthing. is like 25 to life i think and you drive bad ass cars shotting rifles from back seats and all. it looks fun. Let me find the name and i will post the link.

I'm reading reports of scheduled launch games not making the launch... such as PGR3, Need for Speed Most Wanted, and now Perfect Dark Zero... dunno what impact this will have though, if they come out around Xmas instead, they will just bolster sales then.
I think some developer folks may have bit off a bit more than they thought they could chew...

^^^^^^^ beautiful.....
Apparently Bizarre has been doing some experimentation with PGR3.... one of their recent tests was to add a crowd of 35,000 3D ppl trackside, and they said the Xbox 360 had no trouble with it. The final version is supposed to have lots of trackside features that add to the experience - such as camera crews, full racing teams, etc.
This is what the 35,000 ppl looked like:

the ones that impress me the most are Chrome Hounds and World Airforce... if that's what it's gonna look like in-game... well damn. Great to see Sega is still up to top-notch game production.

I dont know if i am the only one that has noticed, but a lot of the game play footage i have seen for the 360 looks very choppy. Particularly the call of dudty and NFS videos. What gets me is that i download the high quality version of the vid and the intros with the company logo animating would be smooth but the game seems to drop frames and get jittery during graphic intense areas. I just hope this isnt a problem.

peraps the developers are overestimating the power of the 360. No doubt it's powerfull, but our current hardware capabilities can only handle so much at $400. IDk how powerful they say it is, if the software developers don't utilize it properly, it won't matter.

About 1-2 months ago, MS released their Beta kits. They had the actual hardware, but running at lower processor speeds - 2.8ghz CPU versus 3.2ghz in the final product and 400mhz GPU versus 500mhz GPU in the final product.
A week ago, the final dev kits went out to developers running full specs, but no videos released show games running on this hardware.
This is one of the reasons for the choppyness, and another is that the code for many games is still early and needs to be optomized.
During E3, the original Halo was univerally panned because it ran at only 10fps. Look how it turned out in the final product though.
I have no doubts that the released games will be silky smooth.

Actually, most of the 1st Gen 360 games only use 1 of the 3 CPU cores. You will see a big improvement in games for the 360 and PS3 as the developers get more familar with the systems. It's always that way in a console's lifecycle.

Here is one that stood out the most for me. It is a 40 minute video showing Kameo. This game is unreal in motion:

You can stream the video so you don't have to download the huge file

The games that are going to take full advantage properly I foresee costing $65+.
I dunno about you guys, but I have a problem spending $50 on a game when I'm gonna probably get bored of it shortly anyways.

(Click on the video with the date 9/17/05 called Off Screen Gameplay)
The developers said it will run at a constant 60fps in the final form which it looks like it does now. This is how the final games will run
There is a new video of NFS as well. The game is now running pretty much butter smooth:

As for prices, I fear we will see increased prices, but MS made a great move by pricing all of their first party games $49. Hopefully the other companies follow.

wow, both those videos are great, but I wouldnt' say flawless witht eh COD vid. I noticed it got pretty choppy when all those explosions were going on. I'm really hoping developers take full advantage of the hardware, but what good is realistic graphics to immerse you in gameply if it's just gonna get choppy in certain situations like on the older systems?
the 360 is way overated, but it's still a big step up in teh console world.

Low quality video of PGR 3 ingame...
Looks amazing. I love the in-car view, the framerate is smooth, and the engine sounds are fantastic.

^^^ sound and graphics look great, I like being able to instantly tell it was a Viper just by the sound (and dash).
BUT... as I was downloading, I had an initial impression already in my mind, just based on playing the previous PGR games... and unfortunately the video confirmed my expected impression. It can be summed in one word: erratic.

I actually love the gameplay of the PGR series. It's not a simulation like the GT series or Forza, but I actually find it more fun to play. It's based more on arcade gameplay. I find it easier to pick up and a lot more fun to play.
This game will only have cars that can go 170+ mph, so the car selection will be great.
It may not be for everone, but neither are the Forza/GT games. Forza 360 is already in development so that will fill the need for that type of game on the system.
