yeah pretty much, plus I used a store credit to pay for the
presale so that's $50 I would lose returning it.
Just want to wait till 2 gen or smaller version/better battery life

There is not shortage of PSP. I went to Sony Metreon last night at SF around 10:00PM. I got 248th unit out of 500 available. Btw the time I left, there are still about 100 people in the line. Which means sony probably only sold about 350 unit of PSP last night.

You can probably still get one at Metreon today for $249.99. Every retail store such as best buy and Fry's has no lines for PSP.

Unlike PS2 where the supply is far short of demand, this time, sony has more than enough PSP unit.

Who ever pays a premium for this is not doing their homework.

 

So the place you bought it at sold 70% before the first day.

Sony shipped 1.5 million PS2's when they came out. 50% more than the PSP launch.

Be happy you got yours...

But demand for PS2 is much higher than PSP.

Metreon sold out PS2 in the 1st day and have to turn people away. There were lines outside major retailer's such as fry's and best buy for PS2.

But not for PSP. The PSP launch is not as good as Sony had hoped. I am just telling you the current market situation. PSP is not as hot or as short in demand as PS2.

 

PSP WILL sell out today. If someone finds one tomorrow or the day after they will be isolated incidents. I totally agree with you that the demand is not nearly what it was for PS2.

But that being said, most people will start paying premiums for the unit on Ebay.

 

I hope so. Because I have one extra unit to sell too.
