How to hide a partition from Windows Explorer
How to hide a partition from Windows Explorer
Problem: The Adaptec raid card I am using isnt supported by Acronis F11 restore feature. So I need to make a separate partition and store the image. However, I dont want this partition shown in windows explorer because I dont want the customers to delete anything on accident.
Is this even possible? If so, how do I make a partition not show up in windows explorer for Vista? Please dont start a war with Vista suck or any comment about the OS.

I think you put this in the wrong forum, hence the reason you haven't gotten any answers.
Yes it is possible, two ways of doing it. For Acrnois to use it, does it need a drive letter, or can you tell it to just use a partition?
The most secure (from deletion) way it that you open up computer management (in Administrative Tools), go to disk management and remove the drive letter assignment.
If that is not going to work you can hide the drive letter/assignment from showing up on the computer if you download TweakUI for XP from microsoft. There is a place where you can select which drives to show in 'my computer' (which also affects windows explorer). The downside to this is that if the user knows that drive X exists, they can still type x:\ in their address bar and it will appear.
