Halo 2 - New/Improved Things to Note

The glitches in the cinematics are due to the use of normal mapping. It's a pretty new graphical effect used in Doom 3 and now Halo 2. It allows for very realistic looking characters and textures, but since the HP of the Xbox is somewhat limited (it's using 3-4 year old technology) you will notice a lot of texture pop-in and other glitches.
Overall though, it's an awesome looking game that really pushes the Xbox to it's limits.

I don't have an Xbox, I'm just talking in general about "trials" such as that...

With the option of having unlimited of everything, the challenge of aiming better so your hits are deadlier is degraded IMO. You'll still have to aim better before you get killed by the other guy. But having limited ammo makes it even more challenging.
If I had a choice of unlimited ammo or 1 grenade and a few bullets and it was me against 4 other guys. I'd still take the option of limited ammo because it makes it even more challenging.

i huess that i am the only halo 1 supporter here
i thought the game play was 100x's better in that game, this one is much more like socom or counterstrike. i hate how the melee's are like non effective in the new one.

I don't remember Halo 1 on XBOX, haven't played it in years. But I thought it was similar to Halo 1 on PC... where you could do little jumps in the Ghost's?
I miss that.
Or is it Unreal Tournament 2k4 im thinking of where you can do that ?
fuck. whatever it is. we need that.

Their soo similar.
I actually prefer UT2k4 over Halo... with respect to everything except hand-to-hand combat.
Unreal doesn't feel as "personal" as Halo does. Halo really envelops you in a character.
But the vehicles, physics, weapons, sounds, etc of UT2k4 are just like Halo... but alot better.
I'm talking on PC of course.
UT has always sucked on Consoles. Halo is one of the rare titles that crosses platforms sucessfully. Being designed for a console though, its definately more at home there. It can't compete on the PC... but its still fun.
just beat halo 2...damned opened ended ending for sequels....course we all knew this anyway...
kind of an anti-climatic ending as well.....
oh yeah, and watch to the end of the credits.

Have you guys noticed that when you start a mp game, you are limited in ammo but as you play the amount of ammo you can carry increases?
when i have the smg at the start of the game, you can only carry a max of 180 rounds. but later in the game i was able to carry 360 per gun. and for the pistol at the start i have 24, but later it's 48. it just doubles for both.
I wonder what the conditions are for the ammo total to increase? the number of kills you have, the time in the battle or whatever.... who knows.

i heard about reload the EEPROM? something like that - thing is i've also heard theories that the live update also searches out for non-OEM hardware such as the hard drive....won't be hard to tell that i've got a 160gig HD in there
for $150, i'll just get a dedicated live xbox and use my modded one for my multimedia.

i'm surprised no one has commented on how good the soundtrack to Halo 2 is. It really does add a lot to the experience (in campaign mode that is). Sure other games have good soundtracks but that's because they chose established hits. Everything in H2 is original. :twocents:
