extremely loud video card

A couple of weeks ago, my video card fan starting getting VERY loud. Its always been audible, but now it sounds like an airplane at all times. I thought something was maybe caught in the blades so I ended up taking the card out and while I was out I cleaned out the massive amount of dust that was built up in and around the fan. I popped the card back in, and almost immediately it got loud again.

Any suggestions? The card works fine and no problems with running the PC, its just so loud I end up having to turn it off when I'm not using because its so damned annoying.

Oh yeah, the card is a Radeon 800XL,

Probably the fan.. If you have any mechanical inclination you can take the fan off and put on a new one.

I am sure you could find a computer shop and they could probably do it for you as well.

Either that or you can just buy a new card.
Frys.com has a 9800gt on sale for 90 bucks.

the bearings on the fans are going bad, just replace the fans.

it could be the heat sink has unseated itself slightly so the cpu is getting hotter.

You can consider replacing that fan, though, in my old box, the video card fan was the
second loudest thing in my box ( the cpu fan being #1)

ok, thanks yall. I'll try to get a fan this weekend, I also need to get a screwdriver small enough to take the fan cover off. I hope its just the fan and not anything more serious. I really don't want to spend more money on a Video card right now. The computer's been off for the past couple of days because the noise is so annoying.
