Dell XPS600 - bringing SLI to the masses
pricey... I wonder how it will do... I think most people in the market for something like this would build to their exact specifications, rather than buy something like this...

That is a strange market for them to get into. 
SLI users are generally hardcore computer junkies that wouldn't buy a Dell if it were free. Must be a really small niche market they're getting into. Probably wealthy dads that want to buy the best gaming machine for their kid but don't have a clue what they need. "Just give me the best, I don't care what it costs" kind of guys.

It will definitely be interesting to see how long this model (and Dell in general) lasts in this niche. I would think that anyone that wants to buy this type of machine as an out of the box product would probably look to Alienware first. In this regard, it may boil down to Dell's marketing $'s equaling success.

It takes less than an hour to build a PC these days including time to install windows. I used to say that building a PC is like playing with lego, but now I think it's even easier. Square peg, square hole sort of stuff.
