Madden 06 comes out tomorrow and should be tight as usual! Anybody play online or live in San Antonio?

 

I see its avaible today the 8th hmm can anyone confirm that ill be checking my local eb shortly to see if its out yet.

 

It officially comes out tomorrow the 9th. Some places may offer it early even though there not suppose to. I am picking mine up at midnight!

 

Besides the quarterback vision thing, what other changes are there?

After EA signed the exclusive contract with the NFL, I don't think they were able to spend too much money on product improvements...

I don't know what it is called, but there is a new"all star" feature where you can create a new player or be one of the new drafted players. You then hire a agent, go through contract nego, practice, weight training and progressively get bigger and bigger houses as your career progresses.

It's Madden, it's pretty much the same game with updated rosters, better graphics and a few new features!

 

Damnit if you have it resvered i believe you can pick it up now. if not you can resvere it and get it at midnite like what i am doing.

I'm sticking with 05. Maybe I'll get 06 for xbox 360 at the end of the year. I'm sick of spending fifty bucks on this game every year just for some stupid new feature.

 

I gave up on the EA Sports games long ago when the NHL series went to shit. It became all about graphic improvements and adding near-useless features. It seemed like actual gameplay fixes/improvments were pretty much abandoned.

EDITOR'S NOTE: That's only 60% of why he have it up. The other 40% were anger management issues after he smashed two joysticks due to the seething rage the game AI brought about in him.

 

im grabbin my copy tonight after work. i went last night at midnight to get it but the line was wayyy to long. it was about an hour wait, they were only lettin 2 heads in at a time. so i said fawk it. i cant wait to play it tho

 

I liked ESPN franchise better. I haven't bought a Madden game since Madden 95. I guess I'll spring for Madden 06.

I thought ESPN 2k5 blew. I played one game and haven't touched it since. I didn't like the gameplay, but the ghetto fabulousness of it made it unplayable.





and all those reviews that rated it close to Madden took the price into consideration. If it were priced the same I doubt anyone would have bought it.

 

That's your problem. You only played one game. Same for the bball game. I hated NBA 2k5 but after "learning" the game it's one of the best I played. Bleh, we can go back and forth, I don't want to turn this into an EA vs ESPN thread. Bottom line is for 06 only Madden is out. on monopoly.

 

Hmm madden 2006 is ok not great but doesnt suck. By the way its 39.99 at wal mart. But yea nhl2k series owns EA NHL. Cant wait till nhl 2k6 and its only 19.99.

I got it Monday night for free through a tourney at my local blockbuster. I did not expect to win, so prior to the tournament, I preordered it for $25.00 with two trade ins. Then, after I won, I sold my extra copy to the 2nd place finisher for $40.00!

Overall, I am a little frustrated with QB Vision. I like the game a lot, but passing is much more difficult than last year. I can't wait till I figure out the passing game because I am not the greatest at running.

I doubt it since EA owns all licensing for NFL games. Who'd buy a game with fake NFL players.

 

Damnit, fuck Madden, I guess somebody felt a little threatened last year had to go and exclude ESPN. monopolies are mmmkay.

 

From what I heard, EA bought ESPN's license for the next 15 years.

I still enjoyed the gameplay of Madden over NFL 2K5 last year, but the broadcasting/presentation of NFL 2K owned Madden. The good news is, they say that ESPN broadcasting/presentation will intergrate into the Madden Series in the next years to come.

 

EA ssucks madden is decent but needs to improve the damn gameplay its the sam freaking crap every year. But now since they own the nfl everyone will buy it thats it im not buying madden 2007.

 

They can add to the gameplay, but they should never change the foundation that has been working for years. Now, they can upgrade the graphics, presentation and mini-games every year. You will buy Madden 07, especially if you are a footbalkl fan and owner of the XBOX 360 or PS3.

 

I didn't buy a football game for 4 years and I'm a fan. I can wait.

 

What Walmart has it for $39.99? The ones around here have it for $49.92.

ANyway, picked it up today.. will give it a shot later. I too have heard that the QB Vision thing is annoying, but I also read that you can turn it off.... so that should help...
