cyberpower config...what do you guys think?

First....I do not want to build THIS pc. With my gaming machine, I'll definitely build, but this is for 'everything else.'

I didnt need a monitor since I already have a 19" 2-ton CRT...will later upgrade that.

Should I be good to go with this system? Is the NVIDIA Geforce 7800 GT 256MB 16X PCI Express going to hold me down pretty good? I might play a few games here and there but nothing extreme.

dont really understand that first line of what you wrote, but anyway.
with that system you should really get 2 gigs. and the 7800 GT will run anything you want, i run BF2 at 1280 1024 on all max settings fine, with an x2 3800 and 2 gigs of valueselect corsair ram

if its not a gaming machine, you really don't need the Raptor HD, the X-Fi sound card, or the 7800GT video card...

^^^^ I agree on 2GB RAM, heck go 4GB if possible, you'll need as much as you can get for Vista.

wrote the first line cause most of comments I've seen from others posts was to 'build' your own as in buy the parts from Frys and stuff.....so to eliminate those right off the bat...figure I just say it

I found I could save like $300 if I go with the +3800 instead of the +4200 and do the NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GS 256MB 16X PCI EXPRESS instead of the 7800 GT

Basically, the more you have, the merrier Vista will perform. If you have under 1GB, you will have to turn down the visualization options drastically. Even at 1GB, you might want to turn them down. At 2GB you can probably run more of them, maybe all, but even then I think you will be pushing the limits. With 4GB, I think Vista will be very happy.

Of course, I don't think you really NEED all those visuals... but its nice to have the capability. And I say with as cheap as RAM is these days, might as well get as much as you can, especially if you're going for the gold on the other components. You don't want to skimp on anything. Not saying that 2GB is "skimping" - but at this point in the game, I do think 1GB is skimping.
