Current vs Future Xbox 360 prices

Just wondering if this is a good price. Compusa has the xbox 360 premium + a 2nd free controller for $399 ends today.

Is this a good deal or should I wait till after the holidays, for maybe better deals. What do you think?

I saw this deal:

Dell.com is currently offering the Xbox 360 Premium (Hard-Drive Included) Console for $340, $60 off its retail price! You must add the Xbox 360 Premium to your cart to see the discount!

Or wait for the Amazon deal

http://www.amazon.com/gp/holiday/cv/...42540_hi_img_1

$100 for a core system, then you can buy the wireless controller and hard drive and still be under

With all of the attention on the PS3, XBOX 360 sellers on eBay have deals left and right. Do some searches, I'm sure you'll find something. So, I'd recommend buying it off of eBay. Here is the deal I got a few months back...

360 Premium Bundle
Additional Wireless Controller
NCAA 2007 (you had your choice of any game)
XBOX Live Gold 13 month membership

Think it was $425 shipped. May have been $430 shipped. And everything was brand new and sealed. I also lucked out b/c the seller made a mistake (was supposed to get either a game or controller, not both), but he said to just keep it... so I did! But still, even w/o that mistake, it was a good deal, and that was months ago. I'm sure you can get even better bundles on eBay now.

Here's another thread you can read about opinions of where and when to buy:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but to make a core system into a premium all you need to do is add the HD right? So if I'm lucky enough to get that deal from Amazon, I could get the premium for $200.....................thanks guys

In order to make the core into a premium you need:

20 GB Hard Drive (Core does not have a hard drive included)
HD Video Cables (Core comes with composite cables)
Wireless controller (Core comes with a wired controller)
XBOX Live Headset (Core does not come with a headset)

So those 4 things are what differentiates the Premium from the Core...

Don't forget that the core and the premium also look a little different as well (Premium has I believe the silver accent on the DVD tray).

Save games, download game demos, game videos, as well as use the new video service to download movies and TV shows.

It's easier to install the Media Connector or Windows Media Player 11 and set up media sharing so you can stream your music from your PC to your 360 (you can also stream videos as well without requiring a media center PC). Much easier than burning it to hard drive.

hehe... I actually had that originally, but removed it since it doesn't really impact system performance... but good to see someone is on the ball

I can honestly say that the 360 would almost be useless to me w/o the HD. No way I'd consider it in any other config...

Plus its an extra hundred. Its not very smart to buy the core version IMO.

^ The Hard Drive and Wireless Controller alone make the Premium worth it... nevermind the other things you get over the Core...

I was at walmart the other day shopping for my first 360 game... Don't laugh (Blitz the league) , its a decent game.. Loved the originals, thats why I bought it....

But anyways, there were two guys that were looking for the core system. I talked them out of it. I told them that they would be stupid to waste their money on the Core system. It lacks the hard drive which is 100 bucks and a wireless controller which is 50. So your gonna end up paying 50 bucks over the price of the premium version. Needless to say they walked out with a premium...
