buying new pc,opinions.

i am in the market for a new pc and was thinking about getting this one. what you guys think? from what you get to how much it cost, is it worth it? Also is intel going to come out with a new chip any time soon so that i should wait for? I want to get a comp from costco because of thier spectacular return policy and just from experience they dont give me any trouble when i want to return for any reason.

thanks

oh yea the pic is not the computer, i guess they didnt bother to put the correct picture up.

When a rep from Alienware called me to see if I wanted to buy an extended warranty on the computer because the machine cost $9,486 I cancelled the order. I knew the computer my brother ordered for me was nice but it was waaaaayy more computer than I needed.

july 23rd ish. Supposidly for the whole line up.

Now that i look though, i can't find a benchmark other than the top of the line model. Can't really say how good the 930d replacement will be.

No. He's a nerd technophile who stumbled into a little money lately, doesn't know what to do with it, and who thinks I'll come to share his love for computers if only I have access to the right technology. Frankly, I do so little with computers that I would have never known that the computer he wanted to buy me was any better than an ordinary $1,000 pc. If I had accepted his gift it would have been far and away the most valuable gift i ever received. Considering that I need nothing more than a cheap pc can provide it would have been and a gift whose value I really couldn't appreciate.

I think I'd be better off with a cheap pc and classes that teach me how to use Excel and SAS to their fullest capability.

BTW is there anything in those specs that should have tipped me off to the fact that the computer was extremely expensive? I really don't know enough to distinguish a cheap computer from a high end one.

if i bought the new dell 2407 lcd monitor, do i need a computer with something specific to use it? Cause i was trying to build a dell e510 desktop but the site doesnt even allow the option to get the 24 inch displays with the e510. only with the xps lines do they have the option. Cause i need a monitor asap, and could wait on the desktop for now.
i have an old hp with pentium 3 ship thats about 5 to 6 years old.
i want to get this montior now,but want to make usre i can use it with my old computer for now until later i get a new one later.

perhaps the e510 doesnt have the proper output connection (dvi?) for the higher-end monitors

4GB RAM and 1.75TB of storage. That will sure hold a lot of porn.
Damn, a free $20 mousepad. That's a deal.

The E510 would work because it has a DVI out.
