Bought a NES system for me and the lady, need suggestions.
i've already posted my purchase in another random thread in ramblings.
now i'd like to share with you guys and gets some ideas of what i should pick up.
i was very young when i first owned this system and pretty sure i only played like 4 games.
my question now is what are some games i can buy present day and have a blast with still?
Games that are already on the way with my system.
Mario 1, 2, and 3 (and duckhunter) as pictured.
Excite bike
The Legend of Zelda
these are all the original games i owned as a youngster.
now im hoping you guys will share some stuff i missed out on back in the day.
all options welcome.

I was a huge fan of the SNES version. i'll definately look into that.
contra's are a lot of fun, i'll see if i can get those bundled together.
and phee.. on the battletoads... i know man... i know
games impossible lol
techmo bowl was a great suggestion too. i found one for 8 bucks.. not bad.
whats the difference between techmo superbowl and techmo bowl?

it came with the system.
well the only reason i dont sweat it is my original NES never had issues up to the day i sold it.
also, this particular system is refurbished with a 72 pin connector (no blowing in the cartridges ever again)
all games from the seller are also taken apart, cleaned out and tested

the regular consoles are just fine. You have to know how to properly clean them, get a new 72-pin connector in them, etc. I opened up my NES and cleaned the leads that connect the 72-pin to the rest of the console (was dirty as fsck!) and the console runs flawlessly.

Anyways... *deep inhale*
Double Dragon 1 & 2
River City Ransom
Mega Man 1 - 6
TMNT 3 (since 2 has already been posted)
Kirby's Adventure
Little Nemo: Dream Master
Bionic Commando
Blaster Master
Adventure Island (any of the 3, my favorite is 2)
Ninja Gaiden (1 or 2, I hear 3 is ridiculous)
Hogan's Alley (since you have the light gun)
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out
Batman (haven't played the second one. The first one I know is awesome)
and some others.

I can't believe none of yall mentioned Life Force; another Konami game like Contra except with space ships.
Y'all already mentioned the other games I would have suggested. Oh yeah, Battle Toads is fuckin impossible

having a blast playing all of my old nintendo systems... its been NES, SNES, and 64 for the last 2 weeks.. i really missed these days.

You guys have great memories. The games that I owned and LOVED
Super Mario 1-3
Zelda 1 but part 2 was not that bad
Metroid
Punch Out but with Tyson
Contra and Super C. For some reason they didn't spell out Contra. Extra life code games
Life Force - The sequel to Gradius was an awesome side shooter. I think Contra's code worked
Startropics - AWESOME game. Reminded me of Zelda's playing style. I hope you know what Do Re Me stands for though.
Castlevanias 1-3 - part 1 was tough but beatable (damn you Grim Reaper). Part 2 was very easy but a fun quest. Part 3 was badass
Double Dragon 1 and 2. 3 was meh and hard but beatable. 2 was out of hand.
I personally liked Mega Man 2 the most but 3 was good too. Never played 1 nor 5 and 6
I had RC Pro Am and there's no beating it. But when you get to the race cars all modded out the races are sick. Except when the orange car goes into God mode
Bionic Commando - Awesome game but if you have a PS3 or 360 just d/l the updated one
Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2. I couldn't beat part 1 until it was a rom on a PC and you can save it at the last boss. Careful with these games, you might break your controller
Tecmo Super Bowl
Track and Field 2
Ikari Warriors 1 and 2 although glitchy. literally impossible to beat
Legendary Wings - hard top down shooter
Blades of Steel
Double Dribble
Rad Racer - best music but okay play control
Last and certianly not least
Metal Gear
Snake's Revenge
There's a code I memorized for Metal Gear that I've had in my head for like 20 years thats 25 digits long that will put you towards the end with almost all weapons and equipment. I must've beaten the game 100 times. I never beat Snake's Revenge though. I kept dying at the boss that you had to mine. I think it was Big Boss on roids. Be warned that Snake's Revenge's story was not used in the current MGS saga. The Jap version that we didn't get was used.
