best way to swap out a HDD in a PS3?
best way to swap out a HDD in a PS3?
I've been looking to upgrade my HDD for my PS3. About a year ago I got the 80 gig over the 160 gig, and I'm already halfway through filling it up...
So I was thinking, what's the best way to transfer saved games, downloaded games, etc between the two? I was thinking I'd just take the 80 GB hard drive out, put it in an external enclosure, put say a 250 GB hard drive in the PS3, then send the stuff from my 80 gig back to the PS3 with a USB cable. Would that work? Anyone ever do anything like this?

There should be a section in your PS3 manual that covers this. I think its as simple as purchasing a 2.5" internal drive. Im not sure if you have to stay with a 5400rpm drive, or If you can upgrade to a 7200. Go for it
I wish I had a PS3.
)So basically everything. I plan on keeping this system for a long time, and since I'm already halfway through the 80 gigs in less than a year, I figured it'd be good to upgrade.
I was just trying to see if other people have swapped out the HDD, and how they transferred all their saved games, movies, etc.
