best system

what was your favorite system?

mine was the first one i ever had..the first sega..
the one where you could play with cards or cartridges...i had everything for that one..
that light phaser that you could buy for it was indestructable, i swear...
i taped that thing back together so many times...

i'm gonna call my mom right now to see if she can find it...

it had a wooden panelling look to it with 2 knobs and you played "pong" on it...

on that old sega, if you turned it on w/o a cartridge in it, you would get this screen telling you to turn it off, blah blah..
if you held left on the d-pad and just went haywire on the buttons, it would go to this game of a ladybug going through a maze and you had to finish in a time limit...

i thought it was pretty cool when i was 4...

I wish I had a Super Famicom. It was an SNES on roids.

1. SNES - Zelda 3, Metroid 2, and Super Mario World are still fun today.
2. PS2 - Plays PS1 and PS2 library is the best of the current 3.
3. NES - Legend of Zelda, SMB 1-3, Contra 1-2 Still fun also

Xbox's library isn't that great. I never had a Genesis so I didn't play many games. Neo Geo was $200/game.

Isn't the Super Famicom just the Japanese version of the SNES? I had a few Super Famicom games for my SNES (all you had to do was cut off two little plastic tabs inside the cartridge slot to make the game fit.

I think the games were different and the graphics were better. That's what I remember from like 10 years ago.

I'm still partial to Dreamcast. It was way ahead of its time, IMO. Still better than PS2, on par with XBOX, yet died a lonely death. It was difficult to program for, that and it's low distribution did it in.

Had alot of innovative ideas, like full control of the system from the controllers (a big duh that ps2/xbox still dont have), internet enabled for gaming and web browsing, a keyboard... etc etc. it was essentially WebTV meets console. Interation that everyone else is still aiming for.

Dreamcast was the shit yeah.

N64 - I loved Super Mario, Mario Kart and Mario Tennis.

My ancient Atari was great...still have it, although I suck at Pacman.

Dreamcast is great, I still play it. I liked all of the consoles that I got, NES, SNES, PlayStation, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2. Never regretted any of them, too bad Dreamcast died early.

You must have had money. I remember getting the Neo Geo and then finding out that games were anywhere from 100-200 bucs a pop. I did love my Snes and Genesis. But 2 of my favs was my Sega Saturn and dreamcast. I spen many nights with friends playing NFL 2K and marvekl vs Capcom 2.

dreamcast was tight. Me and my boys played NBA 2k, 2k1, and 2k2, and I think 2k3 on it religiously.
