Just for the record here, since this post is really confusing. Ron is suggestiong buyng Battlefield Modern Combat for XBOX. They've changed the namee to "Battlefield 2: Modern Combat" but it is NOT "Battlefield 2" for the PC like so many of us play.

It's more like Battlefield 1: Desert Combat. They've just given it the "2" designation because release was pushed back so late.

Graphics and gameplay are a good bit below Battlefield 2 PC. Nevertheless, I'll grab it for XBOX just cuz of Live.

I have BF 2 but cant play it because my PC is a peice of shit.....I even bought a new video card becasue that was the basic root of all my problems, and the freaking moher board doesnt accept the card...GAWD DAMNIT....but it is all installed and everything....

ill watch these. im still skeptical about this game due to lack of airplanes. which probably means small maps. if no airplanes and no massive maps... its not really Battlefield.

I saw planes and helicopters in these vids. And i saw vids on there that these guys were on a hummer riding and riding and riding. Shit seemed like 3 times the size of Coag.. in halo. Then got to a point were the enemy was getting on a heli. started to lift of then guys got on gunner in hummer and started shooting heli.. then heli started to fully blast hum V.. looks like awsome game play.


Regarding this chosing what you want to be. Lets say i decide to be a sniper. I can only get on sniper postiions? only sniper weapons? or can someone just run around and kill with whatever weapons? This game seems complicted and will have me hooked for hours!!!

gunny, the class system is the same as every other wargame. you never played any military game before?

you pick a class, like sniper, you get the sniper weapons package... pistol, rifle, and claymors.

spec-ops, you get silenced m4a1, and c4.. etc.


where do you see planes in this game? what video? i dont see planes anywhere.

in the real Battlefield 2, on pc, you can't walk maps their so large. you'd need a good hour in real time to walk from one side of a 64 player map to the other. its great

if comparing to coag in Halo, a battlefield 2 map would be about 20-30x the size.

B.) I have a dedicated gaming system (X-box) to play Video games on
C.) I do not have to worry about PC requirements or taking up memory.
D.) I like laying on the couch.

Same reason so many of us spent $XXX on a PS2 and don't use it.

Nobody is saying not to use your XBOX, but so far as this genre of game goes, BF2 of PC is the superior product of the day. XBOX has and is getting nothing that can compete except for this bastardized version.

A.) ... and? Sitting in front of Excel is not quite like sitting in front of Battlefield 2.
B.) So do I. As well as a PS2, etc, etc. I also have a PC that is dedicated to games. I use my Apple for work
C.) That's only because on a console, you're buying games LIMITED to the the abilities of the console. That's why BF for XBOX does not approach the capabilities of BF2 for PC even though the PC version was out eons before hand.
D.) You could just plug your PC into your TV if this is your excuse. Otherwise, don't know what to tell ya.

If you don't want to enjoy a better game just because it's on a PC, then don't. No skin off the rest of our backs. We're having fun enjoying 64 person multiplayer on massive maps whilst you're still playing repetitive ol' Halo 2 a year later.

... and for the record... nobody is bad mouthing consoles or XBOX, I love my XBOX and it has it's place just like my PC. Some things are better than others for some things.

Sort of like owning a couple nice knives, some slice a mean tomato, others tear through that t-bone.

Its a shame this is coming out so soon to the 360 release.

I'd probally still get this if I was 100% sure the 360 would be compatible with it.

Yes, you will still be able to play this on the Xbox-360. The titles that are being released 3 months before the new gaming system will ALL be able to be played on the X-360..... Even Halo2 will still be able to be played on X-Box 360.

I think it's funny that we started talking about THIS game back in the socom forum when it was Battlefield: Modern Combat... yet here we are calling it Battlefield 2.

This game, despite the marketting, is NOT Battlefield 2. You're confusing people. Stop calling it that.

I'm not knocking the game, I'll buy it and play it I'm sure, nevertheless, be realistic... it's a far cry from Battlefield 2... there is no such thing as Battlefield 2 outside of the realm of the PC. XBOX just isn't powerful enough.

This is Battlefield 1: Modern Combat. It's the BF1 engine (if that) with modern skins.

Well, you might be right. But I cant stop calling it Battlefield 2.This is what they named it. And if anyone is confusing anyone its EA or Xbox or whom ever. They named it this way and thats why I call it this way. How bout you edit the thread titles to Go Buy Battlefield 2: Modern Combat XBOX and then change your Battlefield 2 wont install thread to PC version.

Depends. If your TV supports VGA, DVI, or HDMI and a resolution minimum of 1024x768... yes.

I'll definately pick up this game if you guys will be out there. I played one match with some of you in HALO2 and I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed playing with you all. I wasn't used to playing with people who are not only skilled but have some sense also.


I'm really good at this BF, I love the team work aspect of it.

Have you disapeared or was it me? I know that I can go MIA for short spurts. My problem is in my schedule. I work from 8pm-4:30am so that takes me out of the prime playing hours for most people.

However, Im due in for a shift rotation. I'd definately be more reliable if you guys create clans and stuff when my schedule changes.
