And its about time too. All of my 360 games are shooters. I have been dying for an adventure game. Grabbing this sometime this week also, along with Kane & Lynch

Wow, thats not very good at all. Gamepro gave it a 10. I guess I will haave to just get it and see.
Dang...now I'm disappointed...maybe I'll hold off a few days. I've been waiting for a good storyline to come along and now it might be crap?
Edit...so gamepro has a completely different take on it... I guess I'll just get it and see!

1UP gave it a 70/100
People seem to be saying that once you get past the first hour, its kind of a let down
I'm going to rent it this weekend and see what its all about

Ok, got the game at CC today, and I've been at it about three hours. My impressions so far:
Graphics: Awesome if a little dark and muddled sometimes. There have been a few times where the shadows hid where I needed to go TOO well.
Gameplay and Mechanics: This game reminds me of a mix between prince of persia and splinter cell. You can run and climb around everywhere, but there is a very strong emphasis on playing stealthy, despite what reviews have said about just bullying your way through. A lot of objectives require you to "blend", as they call it in game. Picking pockets, eavsdropping, sneaking by guards, etc.
Of course, that all goes out the window when you get to the best parts: swordfighting, climbing and running over everything. Swordfighting has a bit of a learning curve since a lot of guys actually block and you have to time your attacks. It also becomes hard to target when too many guys get close to you and it begins to auto-target. Sometimes you end up accidentally leaving yourself open and get hacked up. But its a satisfying experience and you get the occasional mini-cut scene when Altair kills a guy. As for climbing and running around on rooftops, its pretty much effortless and of course, a ton of fun.
Last but not least is the crowd interaction. It's not just about running into a crowd and getting lost! If you just careen wilding into people, they get pissed and will point you out to guards. You will also lose balance and fall over a lot. On the other hand, if you help out a few people in the crowd, things begin turn in your favor. I haven't made an assassination yet, but I bet the crowd plays a large part in it.
Voice Acting: Altairs voice is definitely out of place, but everyone else is spot on.
Story: Some reviews said that they ruined it by revealing "the twist" at the beginning but I think that made it all the more interesting. People also complained about the "Matrix" like effects but it seems to fit perfect to me.
Impression so far: I'm still really into this game, and I'm past the first hour. There are definitely repetitive elements but you begin to overlook that once you settle into the gameplay and start going after all the objectives.
8/10

Update: Finished my first assassination. There was a little realtime cutscene beforehand that threw me off, and I ended up in a bad spot. Suffice to say, it took a lot more effort to kill the guy than I woulda liked, and getting away was the suck! But now that I know what to expect, I'm guessing it's only going to get better.

I wen't back to damascus as i figured it would be the easiest..
I am in jerusalem now and I would be quite a bit further, but I keep getting sidetracked.

This game doesn't bring out the best in me as a person

What, is that every guard in the city?

I myself have taken to climbing to a rooftop and throwing them all off...there's an achievement for that too.
BTW, that's pretty much what the screen will look like at the Jerusalem assassination....I tried to be stealthy but after 3 tries I just went for the gusto!

I don't quite know what chapter it is, I guess I have two more assassinations left as far as I can tell. I think I need to get outside and do something though I'm gonna give it a break for a week.
I have a free rental coupon from blockbuster I guess I'll just rent it and see how it is. I still have ninja gaiden sigma to beat so dunno about picking up any other non multiplayer games till then
