Most likely its going to be way to slow (laggy), to enjoy the game. You could give it a try though.

I used to play Unreal Tournament back in the day on 56k... it was damn slow, you had to fire a few feet in front of ppl to hit em (if you are tracking em, I mean)... it was kinda hard at first but after some practice it was still a fragfest. And even with the lag, it was playable and enjoyable, believe it or not.

I dunno how it would be with the newer games, but if any different I would have to think it would be even slower. Is broadband not available in your area? I believe SBC goes as low as $12.95 a month for their base broadband package, which really isn't too bad imo.

It's funny how the bandwidth demands of games have grown with the adoption of broadband. I remember that I used to be able to play the LucasArts Jedi Knight games and race Grand Prix Legends over 56K without much trouble at all. Network code bloat or just more stuff being sent over the pipe these days?

I actually had a guy on my xbl friends list who rigged his xbox up to his computer via ics to a 56 k connection.
He i never noticed any excess lag in a room he was in, unless he used the headset, in which case the game became crap.
