4 Gb enough on a Xbox 360?

That's one of the 2 versions bundled with kinect. The other is 250Gb, sold out. The one I wanted, of course.

My plan is to buy one and add an hard drive later for less than 100$. Bad idea?

if you are gonna add it later... and not pay more.. why not.

but unlike phee there.. i have well over 5 GB of shit from one game alone....

i would not last at all without the larger hard drive.

it just varies from person to person.

You probably bought it already, but do NOT buy a 4gb. If you are somewhat of a serious gamer, you will go through 4gb in no time. For example, some game demos are over 1.5 gb alone. I have a 120 gb hard drive I got 18 months ago and I have 81 left. I do not put music or movies on it, just DLCs and demos (occasionally).

Oh and also, if you do get a 4gb hd, you will need to get a hd transfer kit from XBOX in addition to the hard drive. The one's on ebay DO NOT work. Trust me!

yea i wouldnt go with 4GB, back when i had my 120gb Elite, i loved being able to rip the entire game to the hard drive so the load times would be MUCH faster.

and the xbox is overall quieter and generates less heat from the disc not spinning constantly.

that too, forgot about that. That was the main reason I did it, the drives on the older machines were loud as hell. Don't know about the new ones.

all i get is that initial couple spins to read the game and its pretty silent after that..

i find it to make more noise when watching netflix for some reason

quick question regarding the 4GB xbox, Can it use the old 20GB xbox? I have a 20GB that has RROD and was thinking of just buying the 4G then swap the Hard Drive.

they are not interchangeable with the first gen 360's...

but if you'd like to, xbox supports Flash drive memory... you can add as much memory as you can fit in the 5 available ports...

Of course! This is coming from the only gaming platform that charges for online gaming! Still the best combination of games and community IMO (even though I am on my 5th xbox).
