Let's put it this way. Last week, Kiefer sent a message to everyone during Gamescom that he's in L.A. recording voicework. I imagine we got a loooong way to go. I'd rather wait and have another phenomenal game. After recently playing through every Metal Gear game (not counting Portable OPS nor Ac!d) I can say part 5 easily plays the best controls wise. The story will be epic and I still watch the Nuclear trailer once in a while since it's so good. This game is going to be f'ing HUGE!!!!!

 

Yeah, word on the street is that 2015 1st quarter. But, still...Grr. I'm seriously lacking games on the PS4 right now.

 

Gun to my head, I'm thinking at least next Xmas season.

Shut up Yum. Kojima-san has blessed us with his genius once again. I would spend $1,000 let alone $10 for a 20 minute mission!!! No actually it's like 5 missions with 2 locked ones and I took my sweet ass time doing them.

 

Yeah, yeah...you know what I mean. I do hope the team makes another series with Solid Snake though. I mean, Big Boss' story and fall from grace is interesting and all...but, my favorite character still is Solid.

 

The only useful time period for Solid I can think of is between 2 and 4 when he saves Olga's baby (Sunny) and searching for Liquid O. But they didn't dig into that story maybe on purpose unless it's on some Metal Gear hardcore wiki. After Big Boss "retires" at the cemetary and kills Zero I'm not sure what else can be done.

 

Bingo. That scenario would be awesome.


Would also like a re-do of the original Metal Gear in this 3D landscape...

 

Yeah the original Metal Gear and sequel are tough to play. That's a great idea for a game.

BTW I beat Peace Walker. Story nowhere near as epic but still pretty cool. I believe there's a Konami sale on PS3 for all the Metal Gear games (HD Coll, Revengeance, etc). I'll likely replay GZ when we get to closer PP's release date.

God I sooooooooo wish we were getting this PS4. Asia only. However at e3 they're supposed to announce the slim PS4 with 4k So I think I'll get MGSTPP on PS4

 

^ Yeah, asianspec messaged me that the other day. I'm happy there's a release date now...but, September is still a long time from now.

 

So I just found out Liquid Snake makes a cameo (at least in GZ). I haven't played GZ yet, so... That's just another push to get me to buy this game.




IMO Liquid Snake was a fking awesome character in the first Metal Gear Solid and they kinda messed it up when they killed him off. Sure he came back as "Liquid Ocelot" but it just wasn't the same..

Nice but I'm getting the Collector's Edition this time around. I wonder if BB will sell it. Hopefully I can get 20% off for my bday in August a few weeks before release.

MGS3, Peace Walker (initially for PSP then made for PS3), Ground Zeroes (prologue for Phantom Pain but both called MGS5), Phantom Pain, Metal Gear 1 (not Solid), Metal Gear Solid Snake (Japan only till recently), MGS1, MGS2, MGS4, Revengeance.

 

So pissed. I could've pre-ordered the Collector's Edition for PS4 on Amazon but I held off because I had preferred to put it on my credit card when I could've used my checkcard. Now it's unavailable

Only Amazon for now has it. That's Gamestop here and them and Best Buy don't carry it...yet. Someone posted in slickdeals so that didn't help

As much as I'm a hardcore MGS fan, I'm good with the standard game. I collect enough junk as it is.

The stranger never works for me, I think because I can't get my hand/arm numb enough

 

 

Oh thank God. Gamestop is doing pre-orders. I got one there. Judging on supply I may either re-sell if Amazon comes through since Gamestop's shipping scares me. I rarely pre-order.
