360, PS3, PC, Wii: Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2
I tried a shotgun att for the first time today - pretty cool! it was not the FAL and it had similar characteristics, easy to kill. but, I can't see myself using that a lot. I mean even with the FAL, what's the advantage over just, well, 2 shot kills with the FAL?

Ohh and FYI srika if you don't like using the same hand to aim and shoot there is a setup that swaps that so you use your left hand to aim and right hand for moving and shooting

That's sniping with it. You can't get one shots that way ever.
I'm talking about close quarters like inside a building.
With the fal shotty attachment it makes the range for one shots a bit further.

Although in reality for me I don't have much of a use for it.
I'd rather carry the spas, but it is quicker to switch to the shotty attachment rather than switching guns.
I've actually replaced all my handguns with shotties.
I love bringing it out indoors and blowing people away with them

New Maps rumored for March 1st. Xbox 30 day exclusive. Then released to PS3/PC. Not sure how reliable the source is.

With a game that was hyped as much as Modern Warfare 2, it was a no brainer that the title would be receiving downloadable content shortly after the launch. For those of you who have been eagerly anticipating the announcement, it should be coming shortly.
Thanks to an interview with EuroGamer, an MS spokesperson detailed just how early the Xbox 360 would be getting the downloadable content. "We have a 30-day timed exclusive on the Modern Warfare content packs. So it will be available on other platforms, but you get to try and play on Xbox 360 first.”
While the downloadable map packs have been previously scheduled to hit in the Spring, a source near Screw Attack has claimed that the map pack will be hitting on March 1st. If you're interested in knowing what maps you can expect, definitely be sure to check out our leaked map pack news article.

To add to the link above. I think this is what happened with World At War. Because I remember paying for the new levels, only to have all of my PS3 friends get them free a month later. Then having the content available for free on the 360 too. So its only a good thing if your willing to pay for it. (not sure if thats the case with MW2 yet)
nice, I'm glad you guys are using shotguns now. They're so much fun to use. Yeah, they have an advantage over other guns inside buildings.... so what? You'd be silly not to use them. Plus its satisfying taking out an akimbo wielder or auto-shotty user with it. Like, "ha, take a look at this, this is a REAL shotgun"
my favorite thing to do is run up to immobile campers as they're aiming out of a window, then aim down the sights of the shotty at their head for a good 2-3 seconds them blow their brains out
if they do see the killcam, they only see me standing there next to them... ha
I hope there's at least 4 new maps.... I just wonder if they got enough material from the campaign to make a new one.

someone was complaining earlier about the game's lack of real hiding spots - how there's very very few (if any) truly stealth spots where people can't see you from some other direction. I agree with this, because in real life, you know if there were areas like this, there WOULD be super sneaky spots like that. hope that makes sense.
Something else which bugs me about this game is how it sometimes decides you can climb up certain things, but sometimes not. Like, there's this dumpster in Underpass you can climb up and into that little cube spot there. But, there are other identical dumpsters on the level which you cannot climb up. Ghey. Also, the levels are so intricate with so many details, and that's great, but I feel the high spots are totally under-utilized. I mean, I know there are ways to get to them using the various tricks (especially on HighRise), but I am not talking about those really. Those are fine - but tough to use on a consistent basis because there is a high chance of getting killed / not making it up there. It just feels like there is so much higher-ground potential in the maps and much of it is wasted. And, it should be easier to access. For instance on Skidrow - have all of the fire escapes usable so you can climb up those and have a nice perch there. It would have increased the playability a good amount, I think. I'm just talking about the perches that *seem* like you should be able to get up to them somehow, but you can't. Hope that makes sense. /rambling

if they do see the killcam, they only see me standing there next to them... haYesterday I noticed a LOT of people were using shotguns. it's funny how the gameplay evolves, and generally each forum community can be seen as a small sampling of the overall community. So if we are talking about some trend, chances are most likely that others are too.
Wolverines! map
Snowbase (the second mission) which would be real cool if they include the falling snow/wind
Gulag
(this one could be cool)White House/Capitol building
Oil Rig

Grenades piss me off. I finally got the RPG unlocked and I don't really get it, it's the most effective cheap ass weapon in real life, but I can't kill a damn thing with it, including pav low helicopters directly above me.
I was so happy last night, using random air drop, I didn't get one ammo crate, but I got 3 ac130's, 2 harriers, 2 B2's, a precision airstrike, and maybe a half dozen predators. I just set up my killstreak awards as ,3,4,5.. uav, care package, predator. Makes free for all a lot of fun. lvl 66 now

+1 that EAD sure is fun. lately I've been enjoying finding a real secluded spot and calling it in, and then just picking off all the people who try to steal em.
same goes for CP's. it's funny how ravenously they scurry towards them, like some kind of deprived insects...

lol. that's why I like to use EAD.... but the most awful thing is if you somehow get snuck up on and killed while you're waiting for or getting them. Even with care packages, I don't know if I've gotten more careless, less observant, or people have gotten sneakier or its just bad luck, but I pretty much never had my CP stolen from me, or I killed the guy before he got me. Once in a while you get a smart guy who sees or hears the smoke, then waits around the corner.... soon as the heli drops the package, he turns around and blasts you
Yeah, personally I think its just the evolution of the game. People are getting really good at it. And, it's become trickier and trickier to successfully get even a CP. Esp in FFA, in TDM at least you have your other mates who can cover you.

very happy with it.
