So I just ordered mine right now. I got it for $55 free shipping, and since its shipping from NY, I should have it by Friday. Which is perfect because I can't play until then because of school work.
Anyway, I'm relatively new to COD games. The first and only one I've played is Blacks Ops (which I love). Hopefully MW3 is just as good or better than Black Ops. If it is, I'll be happy. And I notice from the videos you guys are posting that I'm going t have to learn a couple of new things. As some killstreaks and weapons that I see there, are not on Black Ops. But, I'm sure I'll have fun.

The first few levels will be hell. Make sure you equip the single fire rocket launcher. There will be uav's up the ass when you first start out.
The killstreak setup for this is different than any other CoD so far. You can basically customize your killstreaks for each class in addition to customizing guns/perks.
I'm having an issue with MW3 or my xbox...played yesterday and then it froze on me when entering a game...had to press power button to turn off. Then when I restarted my xbox it froze on the start up screen..then it happened again the next time I started it. I waited like 10 minutes then started it again and I played single player just to see and after 10 minutes or so it froze again. Any one else having this issue? I do have the very first xbox so...

Im on Xbox, and my friends and I have not had this problem at all. I'm guessing it is your xbox...

Call of Duty Elite outage continues

According to a status update on the official website for Call of Duty Elite, access to service is intermittent as developers from Beachhead Studio respond to overwhelming demand.
"At launch, our registration and login systems were crushed by gamers trying to enter the Elite site at the same time. We have now fixed the registration and login systems, but we have found that the greater than expected demand is crashing servers," reads the statement on Elite. "We're immediately deploying multiple additional servers to beef up the system."
All premium Elite members who have paid subscriptions will receive an extra month for free, and any users interested in subscribing can also receive the extra 30 days of membership.
The Beachhead statement also says all gameplay data accrued from Modern Warfare 3 and predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops is safe and will be available when Elite returns.
"As more users log into the Elite system, you may find that the wait to get into Elite is longer than you expect. We know how frustrating that is and we appreciate your patience," says their statement.
The free portion of the Elite service tracks a player's progress in Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops. Paid subscriptions net bonuses such as early access to downloadable content.

This literally happened to me last week. It's the first sign of the GPU overheating and the onset of RROD. It'll be a 3 red ring of death instead of 4 (where the cpu overheats)

I doubt they'll fix it again as I'm sure they'll say it's out of warranty.
I took mines to a local shop and had them reflow my motherboard and reset the heat sink on both the cpu and gpu. It was either get a new xbox and have the same potential of RROD pop up later or get it fixed permanently for $40. I opted for the $40 option.
Check your local craigslist and see if any local shop offers to do a reflow and back it up with a lifetime warranty (my local shop did and if it RRODs again...they'll reflow it again for no cost).

People expected WAY too much.I agree with some the maps have alot of dead ends and make you feel like your running in circles at times but overall gameplay is ALIL better than the previous that I liked. I like this one and BF3 and I'll play both but for diff reasons. When I wanna run around and shoot people MW3 all the way......but when I wanna go to WAR and actually focus on an objective BF3 all the way. You really can't compare them besides they are FPS.

I had a ball with the explosive fake care package last night... I kept calling those in, one time I had like 7 kills just from calling it in and hiding out at a spot and picking off people as they came by. And once I had a double-kill from it exploding. Lot of fun to use. 
Also got Juggernaut Recon a few times, it's fun but not invincible, it has a health meter. It was amusing to use but not as fun as I had expected, primarily because its slow.
ALSO... if you get 7 kills in a row with the Specialist killstreak, it unlocks ALL of the perks. Now that was neat!

Like in BLOPS, I like hardcore better. I think I'm gonna focus more on hardcore search and destroy in this game. I miss the SOCOM feel and don't like just running around the maps hoping people don't spawn behind me.

Sigh xbox is officially dead...tried some youtube fixes and I was able to load it back up but it froze like 2 minutes into my kill confirmed game. I'm gonna probably get a 360S and then open up the old one and mod it to play single player games.

An update for Modern Warfare 3 was released today, bringing the game to version 1.03 now. The update is 21 MB big so its not a substantially large update. There has been no official comment on what the update includes yet but we have noticed that the network issues we we’re having surrounding joining parties and with Spec Ops / Survival game modes are now fixed.

Like with previous edition of Call of Duty, their servers have to deal with such a large number of online players it’s essential that it never crashes or encounters any issues, these updates will stop this from happening and keep things smooth. Issues surrounding the Call of Duty Elite feature have also been addressed after high player demand caused some problems.

It is a third consecutive sales record for the Call of Duty series. 2009's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 sold 4.7m copies in 24 hours earning $310m in revenue, while last year's Call of Duty: Black Op hit 5.6m copies in its first day.
"We believe the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the biggest entertainment launch of all time in any medium, and we achieved this record with sales from only two territories," said Activision Blizzard chief executive Bobby Kotick.
"Other than Call of Duty, there has never been another entertainment franchise that has set opening day records three years in a row. and LOL at everyone saying how much more 'realistic' BF3 is compared to MW3. I just saw a video in the BF3 thread of a guy flying a helicopter inside a tunnel, and every time the heli got damaged, he would land it, fix it, and then get back in and fly again. And also noticed the helicopters have unlimited rockets. Nice "realism" there.

Do they stay into the next round in search and destroy? I want to put one at the other teams spawn and potentially kill their whole team at the start of the round

you are NOT invincible with Juggernaut... just have a bigger health bar. and if you have riot shield yes that makes it all the more hard to kill. but, not invincible.
